just another note, its really effective at shooting down allied aircraft, and its most helpful against the p47. |
because balance and meta comments are often biased on way or the other. often times people try to push their own agenda when talking about balance, either consciously or unconsciously. people try to suggest things that would make the game 'ideal' in their own mind. where as a bug is...well a bug. for example the allied MG retreat bug, im fairly sure all of us can agree that it shouldnt be in the game, or perhaps MG team members not seeking cover as they should, or the m20 mine wiffs every now and then, etc etc.

yeah...honestly i think it would be much better if the tracker was limited only to bugs, rather than having ideas on balance or the meta game in general. |
ok, here are some of my perspectives as a 2v2 OKW player, and what gives me troubles in the late game:
1. B fucking 4s. This doctrine is pretty strong imo, gives you access to shock troops, a long infantry buff, recon, a kv1 for your fuel dump, and the b4. b4 completely destroys everything, just one lucky shot hitting vet squads can completely turn the game.
2. M20 anti tank mines. if unprepared, can immobilize valuable axis tanks, and combined with the p47 strafe is a guaranteed dead tank.
3. P47 strafe. I cannot have tanks in the AoE or else theyll take massive damage and probably get destroyed
4. Scot HMC, it deals extremely good damage to infantry, counters vet infantry very well and has a tendency to snipe obers and grenadiers rather effectively
5. ZiS barrage. needs a bit of skill and luck, but zis barrages are really powerful with potential to deal tons of model kills.
6. I&R pathfinder artillery barrage, anything caught in the aoe is gonna die or take huge ass damage.
7. Massed jacksons. completely destroys most axis vehicle superiority, only the Jagdtiger, pak43, and aggressive pak40s can beat this.
8. unit preservation. pretty basic but i see a lot of players lose squads fairly early in the game which sets them back a lot.
edit: 9. recrewed axis support weapons, theyre fucking strong. |
The problem is, people are reactionary, and most people aren't very good at the game. I'll give you an example from CoH1. When the most recent patch came out, people thought PE were overpowered against Americans. That lasted for a whole year, until Aimstrong came along and showed people how the matchup should be played. Now it's an Americans-favoured matchup, all because one guy figured out a better way to play the game.
In most cases, you can't evaluate balance changes within a week, especially not on beta servers with a limited number of players. You need to let your community have some time with the game before you can really say for sure what the state of the game is.
100% agree with basically everything youve said. |
ok? |
its pretty funny how you find it necessary to make some dumb comment every game. |
jagdtiger can slug it out with 2 isus no problem. the isus are just as sluggish as they are. |
generally i find the koreans to be better. no bias or anything tho. |
I honestly think balancing 1v1 perfectly would result in pretty balanced 4v4.
thats definitely debatable and very much map dependent i feel. coh2 is kind of interesting since balance is extremely map dependent.
as for team games, i can definitely say that the difficulty of the game decreases as the number of players increases. i've played rather a large amount of 2v2s, but i have ventured a bit into 1v1s and also have played enough organized team games to get a good feel for it. |
