Thread: Ostheer, the never ending struggle10 Apr 2015, 16:39 PM Two mg42s will completely shut down most rifleman pushes and mind gaming with snipers is really funny to watch. In addition Ostheer t3 received a decent buff considering Jacksons now require 4 shots to kill a panzer 4 or ostwind. Panzer 4s will now actually beat a Jackson if they both fire their first shot at the same time since the panzer 4 has a faster reload, but will pretty much always lose at long range since the Jackson significantly out ranges it In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: A letter to Relic COH2 Game balance team9 Apr 2015, 05:22 AM Jump back to quoted post9 Apr 2015, 02:39 AMNuclear Arbitor indeed, but USF has even less options. i have no fucking clue what relic was thinking when they designed those two factions, or really soviets either. the thing is USF actually doesnt need as many options because their important units unlock rather quickly and they can handle a variety of situations with the units on hand. riflemen are quite strong throughout the early and mid game, and they can continue the aggression with lts and light vehicles, where as okw has relatively easily beaten units in the early game and then struggle to get out relevant vehicles. the majority of their DPS is focused around the sturmpioneers which can be focused down pretty easily by the more numerous rifles, and as paula mentioned rifles beat volks grenadiers pretty much all the time on a 1 to 1 basis. Thread: PTRS now OP?8 Apr 2015, 19:24 PM OK just did a few tests mg42 vs 4 cons w/ ptrs. if the mg42 is in open ground the ptrs blob will be able to take out the gun pretty quickly, but theyll be suppressed in thier attempt. if the mg42 is green, the cons will always be pinned before they can destroy the gun. Thread: PTRS now OP?8 Apr 2015, 19:15 PM Jump back to quoted post8 Apr 2015, 19:12 PMAlexzandvar The PTRS for some reason prioritizes hitting the gun over the crew (which probably has to do with crew weapons being treated at vehicles), so Iv found the number of times Iv 1 shotted MG's without even touching the crew to be much higher than killing the crew while leaving the gun intact when using con PTRS's. The reason Paks get destroyed faster is that the crew bunches around the gun so all the shots fired at the crew manning it that miss can still hit the gun. i play this game almost every day, i know that hte PTRS can hit the weapon. what im saying is that it wont ALWAYS hit the weapon over the crew. The point isn't that people need to repair weapons, I do that anyway (and most good players do it to). It's that you can't when a small group of conscripts runs up to you MG42 and instantly kills it at almost max range since the new PTRS will never ever miss a size 20 object. The best counter Iv just found is CAS as Ostheer, spam LMG's so they can't get into close range. youre assuming that the PTRS will always target the weapon, which isnt true. a lot of the time it will hit the crew members. tbh, i see cons and guards decrew mg42s more than they kill them. ive seen more paks destroyed by PTRS fire than machine guns. Thread: A letter to Relic COH2 Game balance team8 Apr 2015, 19:05 PM pretty sure what paul wants is just more ways to play the early game. right now the early game is very limited strategically what you can do as OKW. you only have the sturm kubel and volks to really work with. kubel can quickly become 240mp down the drain when the m20 or scout car comes, so you have to fall back on just sturms volks and maybe the mg34. Thread: PTRS now OP?8 Apr 2015, 16:53 PM Jump back to quoted post8 Apr 2015, 16:30 PMAlexzandvar Isn't the issue here that con PTRS's can just volley kill a MG42 very very quickly due to the way the PTRS functions with the crew weapons size and received accuracy? Because cons being able to negate their hard counters is kind of what has made the PTRS on them a bit silly. 1. monitor weapon hp, repair when necessary 2. the only way you can quickly destroy an mg42 gun is if you have like 8 or so cons shooting at the gun. this means that pretty much the soviets entire army is in one sector of the map, go out and get some map control. 3. 2 mg42s will pin a con blob faster than the con blob can kill the mg42 4. dont leave your mg42s alone, as soon as you see the conblob get suppressed you should be relocating mortars and a gren or pio squad to help deal with the suppressed units with flamers + riflenades. In: COH2 Balance
