About control groups, I prefer to only use control groups on "important" units, for example squads that are flanking during a fight, capping behind enemy lines etc, that way you don't have too many control groups and that allows you to prevent the random squad wipes by quickly checking the squads every once in a while
And I kinda have the same problem regarding the longer games
I don't really know if the bulletin have been fixed, since i'm not a fan of mortar bulletins anyways (I've been using triple mine bulletins for almost 3 months as ostheer) but all i've heard is that the bulletins have been fixed
And about the soviet mortars, it's the same with both the mortars
Soviet mortars barrage is the right choice against support weapons and for the ostheer mortar, you should only use the barrage against houses since it's extremely inaccurate
Going t2 and making a puma or a stuka works nice, stuka in 1v1 tho is pretty risky since it's a big investment and you need to count on raks and shreks as your at and it delays your flak base a lot. Personally I prefer the inf gun and going for mg34s, also, extra Spio squad helps if you have a blob of volks taking the focus and flanking around with the Spios (especially against bad players with no unit preservation and/or bad micro)
8 gb of RAM isn't even close to enough for this game if you're playing this on high settings, the most i've seen this game use my RAM was around 11 gbs
If you open with T1 and go for 3 penals you're gonna kill the base with only 3 satchle charges, and if you're playing teamgames (you didn't mention gamemode so i don't know) you can ask your ally to drop smoke with mortars/rifles to cover the penals and just drop the satcles on the base, mostly in 1v1 tho you need a unit to tank for the penals or get a smoke barrage from a mortar etc
I've always loved playing soviets and I still do, they're so flexible and allows for nice non meta gameplay and fun strategies, second favourite is ostheer and then comes OKW, I won't even mention usf because i've always hated them (but i just mentoned usf Kappa)
Maybe if they changed the soviet tech tree to allow t4 without taking tech tree but limiting the vehicles you get from it, for example only t34 and katyusha, and if you make t3 you can get the su85s. Bad or bad idea?
This is a weird idea but... Maybe give the su-76 an ability to use HE ammo (maybe 45 ammo cost, 30 seconds?) at Vet 1, and making the barrage useable while the ability is active, and when the ability is active the su would shoot HE with the direct fire.
Let me know how this sounds, this is most likely a stoopid idea
