The only use for this ability is taking MG's focus with 2 squads Ooorahin to take the fire, hit the dirt and maybe be able to throw a molotov on the mg or allow for other troops to go for the MG through the arc of fire
This ability needs to be looked at, maybe make the cover in a way that it gives a flat Received Accuracy bonus without it actually being cover so it functions even when the enemies are near you |
Checked the replay and here's a few things I noticed:
Going T1 is not a very good choice anymore, especially if you don't go for double sniper or you make penals, penals are just cons which cost more and doesn't get as much utility through abilities, flamers are of course good, but extra engie squad will do the same thing with less cost
Also he didn't make a flamer scout car which is the thing that T1 is really good for, this allows for some cheesy retreat wipes etc..
He was also blobbing A LOT and got punished pretty bad with the PZWerfer
Later on in the game he rammed a Panther with a almost full healt T-34/76, this just cause him to lose the tank with no real benefit from that
And even later, the way he used the IS-2 wasn't too good, he just went extra ham with it into the enemy lines and was instanly forced to retreat |
Best "noob friendly" soviet build is maxim spam, requires about zero micro, basically the build order is Cons -> T2 -> 2-3 maxims -> cons -> Zis
Best commanders would be Shock Rifle so you can mix some Shock Troops in to the build also

you think the 17 pounder is not weak to artillery??
they are used the same way cause their the same units, you put it on the front lines and your gonna lose it,you put it too far near your base and you may not use it at all and eat your pop for nothing.
BOTH AT GUNS have long range to shot FROM A DISTANCE
10 pop for the pak 43 can not be considered ok if you think the 17 pounder should only take 14-16 pop
their the same unit!!!!
The brit fanboy is stronk in this one Also babby's first powerfantasy
But do you realise that the pak43 can be decrewed with 3-4 mortar shots with some good rng?
The pak43 is far more weak to artillery compared to the 17 pounder, 17 punder can take a 200 ammo barrage to the face, and pak43 can be destroyed by a 150 ammo barrage
|
Both of these guns have a same role but should be used differently, the 17 pounder is a beefy emplacement that can and will take a beating before being destroyed, but the pak43 is a glass cannon, deals a shit ton of dmg from a great range but is easy to counter with any kinds of artillery, cheap barrages will most of the times decrew it but heavier arty (Let's say Time on Artilley) will demolish it with one go with 99% success rate also remember that that once the pak43 is de-crewed it loses all it's veterancy also and this is a big loss especially if you have 3-5 stars on it
The 17 pounder can also self spot with the flare (dunno if it's removed since I haven't used this unit in a while) which is pretty stronk if you're forced to retreat from a fight
But back to the actual topic: the Pak43s pop cap is fine since it's so fragile to artillery.
17 pounders pop cap is a little too high, something like 16/17 would be fine for it, now it's just a pain in the arse to have on the field since you can't push out nearly as many tanks. Taking to consideration the amount of fire power needed to destroy this thing, but the pop cap shouldn't be 10 by any means, this would cause people to spam them like hell, since they're so hard to kill compared to the pak43 |
Well, that's almost impossible with the matchmaking and would require for a testing group of 20 people.
One way would be checking out some high rank 1v1 tournaments last rounds, let's say ro16 or something and take a quick calculation about those since people who manage to get that far in the tournaments are usually that high ranked.
Most likely lelic will not give out those numbers tho |
@OP If you want realism just go and play Men of War In that game you can just make an IS2 and have it be immortal against anything else than JT or Elefant
But back to topic - there's nothing wrong with the IS2, it's just as viable as a Tiger or a KT |
The T-34/76 for it's price isn't a bad tank, it just comes too late and there's no value in massing them and they come way too late to be effective since the better counter parts are most of the times on the field when the 34 hits the field
The thing that killed T-34/76 was when it got moved to T4, when it was in T3 with the 100 fuel tag, it was ok for the price since it didn't come too early or too late, but now, even with the price being 80 it comes three years late |
Personally I prefer to use the Festing Armor doctrine for the pak43, Hull Downed Cmd Panzer next to the Pak43 gives a great defensive boost against artillery and keeps all the infantry away |
Here's my idea: Impliment some kind of a Credit system in to the game, you would get a certain amount of Credits after a game, for example based on the exp you got, and you could "rent" items with that (for example 2 days for 500 credits), so people could test out commanders and stuff without actually paying for them and realizing they suck, this same thing would go for skins
You could however buy items with real money and this would give you them item permamently instead
And also making Sov and Osth F2P to multiplayer/Skirmish |
