example the luchs: it was made for dealing with infanterie.
but...nearly every infantery is his hardcounter...brits bloobs with pias
If you lose your Luchs to a PIAT blob, you deserved it. Your opponent out microed You hard in that engagement |
Blizzards still exist in custom games but I doubt that more than a handful of people plays with blizzards enabled.
Relic just doesn't remove them completely because of their pride. Coldtech was one of the most praised features before the game's release and then nobody liked it.
Blizzards were a good idea that got a dumb, gimmicky implementation. It felt like every five minutes you'd end up pausing the game because the benefits of going out in the storm weren't really on par with the costs. If blizzards had been longer, and units were less vulnerable to cold death I think the rewards could have been brought in line.
It also seemed like Relic didn't think much about how the maps were interacting with them. |
I think that emplacements could have a legitimate non-cancerous place in CoH3 if done delicately. If they functioned much more like buildable ambient buildings which would have to be garrisoned by whatever support weapon you wanted to emplace. That way indirect fire attacks which did not succeed in killing the emplacement would still bleed the defender. Moreover since everything would be mobile to a certain degree, there wouldn't be any need for magic brace in order to allow a critical unit to do its job--the counter play to heavy arty would be to get your units out of the line of fire. |
I love how noobs think the Raketen is actually good...
Barton just cleaned Shadowada's clock with dual Raketenwerfers, IIRC. They're weak, sure but serious buffs while leaving the stealth mechanic intact seems like a recipe for a train wreck. |
Counter snipe vs soviet sniper is a bad call, high risk low reward. You beat him, he retreats and tries again. He beats you, you're done. IMO the best way to handle that combo is to lure them forward onto favorable ground, then flank into the sniper with grens or the 222. Obviously that's risky, since if you screw it up you're going to be fuel-free for some time. The other way is to get a reinforcement half track, power through the bleed and charge the sniper. I've heard good things about osttruppen based builds but I've not really gotten them to work, TBH. |
There's certainly something to be said for estoppel and easement. Trolls essentially have right of way as it is the normal operation of the internet. As Antilles said: "Trolling is a risk you take as a streamer. It's happened to most of the coh2 streamers."
EDIT 2: Laws against cyber harassment are largely absurd. Legality doesn't equate to morality anyways, so:
The pivotal question for me is what degree of psychological harassment actually breaks the non-aggression principle, or rather the natural negative right to not be aggressed against? I'm pretty sure it's "there is no degree," because nobody is truly forced to be beholden to the words of another. As Marcus Aurelius said, 'they're just words my nigga.' Anyways, if someone thinks they are so beholden then they are mentally enslaving themselves, and that is no fault of the other. Furthermore, there's the question of who owns the property (implying where he lives, where Wada lives, and all across the servers and within their programs, you sillies) where Barton did the harassment, and whether Barton is violating their rights as a property owner by engaging in activity that they can rightfully prohibit.
Heavenly Father, let this cup pass. The state is not a legitimate plaintiff, and this is incredibly small fry. If they have a financial incentive--which means absurd penalties against Barton, and, hotel foxtrot, that would be massive injustice nowhere near in double proportion to his 'crimes.'
But, most of all, this is the best solution: "I heard Wadda chilled out a bit anyways..."
This is called civility. I sincerely hope Wada ain't gonna go whining to some gov't goons to come and bust Barton, and I hope he finds inner peace. We don't have to resort to violence--that would be stupid, again barbarous and uncivilized, and unjust (I think in this case). Justice is easily abused in our hands, but mercy is divine.
How is Wada estopped from arguing that he's being harassed? Has he done similar things to Barton? I think you could make a fair-ish assumption of the risk argument, but IIRC that wouldn't really apply if we're talking about an intentional tort.
The state sues people all the time, and rightly so in a common law context. More often than not in my experience, its not really about the money or an individual conviction so much as the principle of law. Besides which, cyberharassment is a real thing which really should be penalized. I'm not familiar enough with the Wada-Barton beef to really say much about whether it qualifies. TBF I doubt that it does. But I do know prosecutors who have dealt with suicides resulting from extremes of this kind of behavior, so yeah, there really does have to be a tool in the toolkit to deal with it.

How? I've never seen a sturmpio alive after rushing a section in cover, that's totally new for me
Actually UC has quite good armor if you don't want to go head on against a 222. It can force away kübels really easily, poke the infantry away, and deal good damage against units that are not in cover.
10/10 best support unit - IGN
It's approach-cover dependent IMO. With negative or zero cover the tommys win, with yellow or green the strums can usually make it with enough health to win. That said, I've never formally tested that so maybe I'm just being too cowardly when I retreat into my MG.
UCs are boss though. Auto-buy on urban maps against a garrison-happy opponent. |
Yeah i do that sometimes, but it leaves me like with nothing to capture with.
Also my teammates at my ranking, are shit. CPU plays better than them.
A lack of capping power is a problem, but it's one that can be mitigated by smart cap orders. That's very map dependent, though, so it's not really the kind of thing that can be explained here. I'd encourage you to spectate high level 2v2s to get a sense of what your fellow Brits are doing.
As for lousy teammates-that's pretty much just a fact of life. If it bothers you too much, get a buddy and only play AT. If you're set on doing randoms, though, keep a few things in mind. A coordinated bad plan will often beat an uncoordinated good one through sheer weight of numbers. Given that you've got ~ 30 seconds to type, that means that you'll often get better results if you conform your play to a teammate than if you waste micro trying to convince them to do things your way. It's also worth keeping in mind that they are a lot of ways to play this game. Sometimes something that looks dumb has a deeper logic to it and can be quite successful. |
It sounds like you're having the most trouble with Sturms, is that right?
I've found that the most reliable way to deal with the Sturms is an MG screened by a tommy. Keep the MG near your tommy but in the fog of war, so if he tries to charge you, he's going to get suppressed and have to run. (I usually only get one mg unless the opposition is a hardcore blobber.) |
Korea could be interesting. Easy 8s brawling with T34/85s. |
