Interesting change, as now OKW grenades will be identical to molotovs in every way but somewhat faster throw speed (as in time for grenade to leave the hands of a thrower). Not really sure the incendiary is worth 37.5 munitions (well I mean you HAVE to use it but Im talking abstractly here) for being almost identical to the molotov which is only 15 in a muni floaty faction.
It'll probably be fine. You'll just have to be sure that you really need them out of the building before you pull the trigger. Fully dropping the price down to the molotov's seems likely to have nasty knock-on effects vs USF, especially. Time will tell either way, though. |
and the magical smoke canisters dropping from the sky is a big fuck you to pretty much every arty ability unless its a static target.
Do we want arty to be area denial only or have the chance to actually surprise mobile forces as well, if they didnt pay attention? I prefer the latter.
Regarding OP suggestion: a buff is in order, the problem in brit case tho is that you cannot counter the guns directly, since they are in the base. Would start with higher dmg, less spread and higher mun cost & cd duration to compensate

Most of those call-ins are extremely expensive and do nothing near what a actual on-map unit would do.
Most soviet doctrines provide off-map as well, but they still use the katyusha.
And why would hang-time be any different then the delay of hearing the off-map.
Katuysha - You hear katyusha you start moving
Major Arty - You hear artillery firing you start moving
If anything the the time between the current artillery is much shorter then the delay before a major artillery strike. Are you seriously suggesting you have time to dodge the fire of other rocket arty in the split second you see the rocket and before it hits?
The reason other artillery has flares is because they can wipe your entire army in the blink of an eye. Majors artillery isn't even as strong as a single priest barrage.
Audio-only arty is a great big "fuck you" to anyone with hearing problems trying to play this game. Unless or until there's some alternative warning for those folks, there should be less, not more of it. |
I think the best solution is leaving the overall damage as it is, but (1) adding a few planes (2) making them easier to shoot down and (3) delaying the bombers by 15-20 seconds or so.
Doing this correctly would make this ability a hell of a lot more interesting. It would give OKW/Wher a shootdown opportunity (presumably one shot down would mean the truck survives.) It would spawn a neat little positional battle as the Brits/Allies attempt to zone out the AA, and the OKW/Wher attempt to keep it in place/gain the proper ground. |
I really felt like Brace wasn't THAT strong.
I think this nerf will definitely bring them in a bad spot.
This brace problem is exactly why building an emplacement heavy faction was a bad idea. Either brace does its job and Brit emplacements survive the axis indirect onslaught, or it does not and they do not. The counter-play options just kind of suck.
Maybe they'll just make emplacements cheap enough that you can get your money's worth before they get blasted into oblivion? I'm not sure that there is a better way to balance them . . . |
Though I can't really see them fitting into the combined arms mix unless they had access to cheap air support which as CAS commander shows us, is broken.
What if the pricing structure was radically changed? For example 350 MP 145 fuel for a strafe which could be reused on a timer until shot down. So if you're trading for one medium tank, you're losing. |
They should include the Japanese because this game is supposed to be about WWII, and the Pacific war was an important part of that conflict.
They can include the Japanese and the Brits give a good model. If the Brits can be an exaggerated version of the Ostheer, then the Japanese can be an exaggerated version of the USF. |

CAS loiter has been batshit op for awhile now. IIRC, it kills all US armor and all Sov armor except is2 and isu 152 in one pass. And it heavily damages those. It's better and cheaper than the old P47s. It needs to get the same treatment-half the damage double the planes, then reduce the damage again a touch. These abilities should be finishers, not soloists. |
That wont change, either. Its Relic's perception of WW2, after all.
I'll freely admit that Relic has done some boneheaded things from time-to-time but this seems unfair. Believing that Germany was at the advantage in the end game of the war would be *really* dumb. I think it's something that just falls out of a much more defensible design choice-the few vs the many thing.
Still, clock-based balance sucks. |
