This was probably the most retarded game of COH2 I've ever played and I'm pretty embarrassed it took me this long to beat this guy. It's kind of hilarious though.
Any advice on how to beat noobs who do this faster? I'm thinking I should have just planted more Smines or bunkers everywhere, because this was the most annoying thing ever to play against.
Apparently an IS-2 can beat two PZiVs, but I was tired of microing around all the conscripts and probably could have done better but it came down to RNG I think.

But if we go for the extreme, someone with pure better micro and APM will just be unbeatable, despite the tactics or strategy you might pull.
In order to make T1 something besides snipers, light vehicles and Penals should be more reliable.
That would be fine. That's what separates the top 1% from the rest of the world.
Ideally, in a game that scales with regard to skill, you should have some units that are really difficult to use properly, but when microed well, are very, very powerful. It's not quite on the same scale but the M10 and T70 are examples. That's how you raise the game's skill cap. Ketten pushing in COH is another example, doing it is actually not that easy, keeping it alive and judging when to quit is another level of skill. But that wasn't an intentional design decision as far as I know...What would be really nice is to have some units that have that kind of skill progression, the better you are the more powerful they are, by design...

It's funny, after the car nerf everyone stopped doing them when it was all anyone did first 3 months of the game.
Then people learned what the faust range actually is and how easy it actually is to micro the cars.
It's actually also a micro-balance issue - the Soviet player using 2 cars probably only has 2-3 other units out. That means they can concentrate exclusively on the car micro, keeping the other units to screen. Meanwhile the Ostheer players are frantically trying to maneuver 4-5 T1 units to combat it. Ironically, if snipers were actually cheaper, I think you'd have more of a chance against them because it would increase the micro requirement on the Soviet player as he would have more units to manage.
So that's one out of the box idea on how to balance them. Lower health, but cheaper. Meaning sniper spam will still be powerful, but harder to micro.

Yeah it's a boring meta when every game you have G43s vs snipers/ppsh.
Believe me if they were playing this tournament on Moscow, you'd see sniper cars in great numbers.
That said one of my mates and I have come up with what we think is the perfect build to counter the 2v2 double soviet sniper, but it can be countered with good car usage...

In 1v1 the problem is PPSH + snipers. There's no way to counter it without the Soviet player really screwing up, the manpower drain is just too significant. They need to either nerf sniper firing speed again, or preferably the PPSH, it's just too good now vs LMGs or G43s.

The game isn't balanced, I wouldn't bother playing Ostheer till they nerf PPSHs/somehow fix snipers.
There is literally no way to have enough manpower on the field to fight 4 PPSH squads plus snipers because of your cost of teching and constructing buildings. Your only hope is lucky mortar hits or Soviet player error.

People just don't want to micro their units to avoid damage. The only micro germans want to do is micro that causes damage; i.e. rifle grenades.
Dude, we have to back up our tanks a lot, isn't that enough?
But seriously yeah, I think some of us would like to play Ostheer like Soviets, and you can't do that. But how many rifle nades do you have to dodge a match vs Molotovs? I don't think it's that OP, it's just annoying, like a fly you can't quite swat, over and over.

Weird, I agree the way the tanks move seems much more realistic, they rock back and forth the way a tank would over rough ground, there seems to be more detail in the way the treads cause dust and snow to spray around...Note the T34s seems to accelerate much slower too.

Soviets, because I don't have to dodge Molotovs all day, the squads rarely get insta-gibbed by anything, and sniper spam is OP.
