I doubt this very much. Its my personal preference. Jp4 dies without chances to firefly (it really easy to land rockets on it plus jp4 without vet has only 640 hp, which, if i am not mistaken, one shot from rockets landed on top of opening ff shot). I still think in terms of raw at nothing comes close to command panther for mark target spam and jp4 combo. But its 2 tanks. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Am i the only one who thinks ff in decent spot? Yeah, sure, it has problems, but it can 2 shot panthers. Just use it differently, hit and run, cover with at guns, use war(p) speed and such. Vet 3 firefly is best td in the game. Even vet 5 jp4 is nowhere close. It just not suited to fight tanks 1 on 1. It suited to execute damaged tanks and kill anything ff manages to flank, doubly so with mark target from soviet teammate. Kt? Loldead. Elefant? loldead. Jagdtiger? loldead. Tiger ace... need damage sponge ahead to tank for ff, but if there any, loldead. In: COH2 Gameplay |

This way, the Brits force the enemies to come to them, rather than being forced to take the initiative and attack themselves (which is something Brits are terrible at, due to their cover requirements). It is simply bad design to force the player that invested in a static build (also known as the British faction) to attack an enemy in order to make his army work in any way. +1000 this. All current problems with Brits come from the fact that Brits, faction designed to be strong on defense cant benefit from building defensive positions. They get outcamped by both okw and wehr, and their emplacements die to mortars/isgs/mortarHTcs even with permanent brace and stand fast repairs. In: COH2 Gameplay |

People are telling me that it's literally the same stats as MG42, which based on my own personal experience seems like it cannot possibly be true. Vickers does almost exact same damage HMG42 does at long range. I don't know for sure, but i think HMG42 have better accuracy which results in better DPS. Vickers suppression and AoE suppression suck big time. As i said, lone volks can crawl into vickers and throw grenade to kill it — i saw how it happened in lots of games. And rifle grenades... the horror... they just kill vickers pretty much no matter what. As a honorable maxim spammer i can say that maxim, which is cheaper HMG suited for attacking, suppresses far more reliable than more costly Vickers, which by design suited for defense. DAFUG? Vickers is not worth 280mp, it dies too easily and constantly fails to do its job. At current state vickers hardly worth even 240mp. In: COH2 Balance |

Problem is not isg but British lack of possibilities to kill or even pressure isg. 400 mp mortar pit which dies to single isg and would be nerfed in next patch as bad of a counter to isg as infantry section which deals no damage out of cover. Bofors can suppress and deal some damage to isg with it barrage ability, but that ability cooldown soooooo long that putting one isg out of action for couple of seconds would hardly change a thing. But as being sad, problem is not isg, british vulnerability to any form of indirect fire is. Wehr turbo mortars and mortarHTcs wreck brits even harder for cheaper price. IMO, british infantry should take less damage from indirect fire in general. p.s. I love how relic nerfed german mortar but not german mortatHT in preview patch. More meta for meta god! I love British early-game. Build vickers. Lose vickers coz vickers, which cost 20mp more than HMG42, cant suppress and get wiped by 1 rifle grenade. Recrew vickers. Lose vicekrs again. Repeat until you dead or have op tanks and strafes. Game was quite intense. In: Replays |
