Add RoF in the equation and BOOM, equal time to kill each other.
A Zis has a more reliable first hit, while the pak might me able to land extra shots.
And zis has 6 men,much more difficult to kill.And paks are easier to clear due to flame arty,shocks better soviet arty etc. |
Soviets are overperforming,everyone knows it now.But some usual culprits will ofcourse deny it. |
How does spawning on empty buildings with high DPS, faust, & grenades not count as best late game infantry? Obers are still the best infantry with upgrades, Jesus Christ you make it sound like Cons and Rifles are on par.
Its performance and survivability are nothing speial.I'm not OKW player but i've never seen fallschirms able to beat para.1919 or new guards when i'm playing in team.The initial; oppurtunity cost can't justify the brutal reinforcement cost once surprise is over.
Are obers still best infantry?Can they beat rifles with 1919 upgrades,or paras with 1919 or guards with upgrades?I'm not sure.Will have to compare some stats.What i have seen is obers are used very much less now and when they come out they are certainly overpriced at 400 mp,compared to say guards guards coming out at 360 mp with free PTRS.The 50 mp reinforcement cost is no longer justified by their current performance. |
Must be because both, guards and 1919 paras are bigger investments. Guards without DPs will be ripped apart by falls and so will be 1919 paras, just like cons are being ripped apart by LMG grens.
Falls perform like 340mp(reinforce cost allows you to easily calculate units value, falls were 45, right?) unit with 100 mp being the opportunity cost for being able to spawn them on the field.
Paras have lower opportunity cost, but higher risk and perform like 350 mp unit roughly without upgrade.
Guards are obvious.
So you're expecting cheaper long range unit to beat more expensive, upgraded, long range units and tell they are useless because of that.
Well, then I say we should buff penals, rifles and so on, because they are a joke against stg obers.

Main problem with soviets..they can afford mistake after mistake and still win.
And they can choose to not tech and stall for call-ins without being overrun.

The Tiger is may be arguably weaker, but there's still a Panther. Call ins are so tempting but why not beat Soviet heavy armour with a better tank destroyer than the Tiger. It's high time the meta evolved, instead of stagnating with the same units.
Can't get to panther in lower game modes due to tech.
Can't punish soviet call-in waiters spamming zis wall because we have no incendiary call-in arty ,and my shitty pzwerfer locked out behind tech.Its extremely frustrating-this sense of helplessness. |
thanks for all the feedback, i have had some irl problems recently and have been having trouble concentrating. the game really is about adaption and my head simply hasn't been there to make good decisions, i find myself being stumped by my opponents strategy and just sitting there slowly losing to vps.
I completely agree, when i was at 800 i was playing at a level where the game goes beyond just micro and winning engagements, you need to consider the overall picture and make sure you are one step ahead of the enemy with counters because if your micro and game knowledge is both up to scratch then the guy with the better composition wins.
I have decided to still take a break though but i will make sure to take your advice and change my play when i decide to give it a go again.
p.s seriously though you guys give amazing feedback, straight to the point and really specific. Reply's like these are what keeps the community going, coh2 is a complex game with a steep learning curve and i don't think i would of managed to get to this far without the help from these forums.
Good idea,take a break from ost.Right now its dark days for the faction,maybe things will improve.But as ostheer game is just not enjoyable and too unforgiving atm. |
