They don't have to remove it completely. They could just turn it into the paratroopers version: A cheaper demo that works on a timer instead of remote activation. This way they can still be used to blow up bridges, key buildings or defensive structures, but can no longer be used for easy no-skill wipes.

This may be hard for some of you to understand, but demos actually (imho) encourage blobbing because you can protect your whole army from demos with 1 minesweeper. If you didnt blob you would need to buy a sweeper for every unit that moves on its own.

Could increase the price of Volks to 240 and then giving them a lmg34 that should be similiar to the lmg42. There's no problem in having different weapon stats, a lot of soviet units function like this.
The lmg can't be fired on the move and does only half dps when out of cover (to discourage blobbing). For that it needs to cost 45 muni however and you need 2 trucks deployed.
Also upgrading to a lmg should disable the Schreck, to encourage combined arms.
I never liked the schreck on the Volks, in my opinion there should have been an AT squad, equiped with 2 Anti tank rifles that can be upgraded to Schrecks. There's a mod that does this and it turns out very nice.
Sturmpios are not suited for the Schreck because then they have simply too much roles : Repair, Mine detection, mine laying, fighting and Schrecks? To much purposes concentrated on one squad.
Also laughing at all that people that suggests mp40, they are weak as fuck in this game and would be rather a downgrade (unless you make them have the dps of shocks) Volks have no abilities to close in, it would be simply missplaced on them.
Morever with sturmpios you already have a unit that fills this assaulting purpose with a weapon profile that is more similiar to SMGs than to a mid range assault rifle. |
Well we give a lot of feedback but in the end it's about relic and whether they manage to do the job.
I remember bugs that were in WFA alpha and only got patched after half a year.

I made a thread about the 120mm some time ago. I suggested it getting decrewed with 1 guy remaining or make it function similiar to a pack howitzer & LeIG, means it can't retreat, but keeps its deadly potential.
I just hope the doctrine becomes less attractive in the future so we see it less often. PTRS + 120mm in the first weeks after the patch was the reason why I stopped playing the base game, alpha is great tough. |
