That's player skill in my opinion. When I flank I always keep the retreat path in mind. If a fence is blocking a good retreat path then you should show some micro and climb over the fence before hitting the retreat path.
It's a good mechanic that punishes bad play and risky maneuvers. |
It's fine damage wise , I just have a problem that your tanks are even attacked in your base.
However because of the way this ability is implemented this cannot be changed.
Coh2 is a game where awareness and micro is awarded. Yet this ability negates this mechanic, as your tanks can even get destroyed if you retreat them at once out of the circle.
Your tanks can be also shot at if they are already out of the circle, but the P47 was taking aim while you were in the circle.
My suggestion is just to award the axis player more if awareness was shown. Just decrease the circle a bit and this ability will be in a good spot.
The ability still will be by far superior to the stuka strafe, IL strafe & bombing run which are laughable easy dodged |

I guess most people just fail to utilize them, because too micro intensive. Spamming maxims seems to be easier for most. |

why do people insist that the jackson is bad? it one shots mortar halftracks, two shots stugs, and 3 shots panzer 4s. it costs 350/125, WHICH IS THE SAME AS A PANZER4. its not at all expensive for the massive firepower it can bring to bear.
Because too much people use it as a main battle tank. They scout with Jacksons, drive into enemy lines to fight panthers head on and then wonder why their tank destroyer explodes so quickly. |

2. Volks are supposed to suck. OKW is designed to have weak early game. They fit their role as a weak stopgap infantry quite well though, especially with panzershrek and vet

I actually think they are in a good spot. While being weak in early game, they are better than allies infantry starting from mid game.
Moreover I think allies should have their early game advantage. |

You should use as OKW to cover the flanks of your Jagdtiger & Kingtiger. They are slow, so basically surrounding possible flank paths are important to keep the rear armour not exposed to agile medium tanks.
Also I sometimes use them to destroy a soviet M3 that is just roaming among my units.
You might think that it's better to wait for a Panzerschreck - well that's sometimes not the case, as a skilled soviet player can push your volksgrenadiers around so that they won't shoot while grilling them as you desperately trying to destroy it.
3 Mines will definately kill a scout car, while a Panzerschreck can be wiped by a flamer car. |
