Faymonville Approach for World Championship 2019

This post is to point out the changes in Faymonville to balance it as best as possible without totally changing the feel of the map.

ORIGINAL LAYOUT

1) House #1 covers the left fuel and munition (favors south).
2) House #2 Does not cover the right munition.
3) The territory point by house #2 is on the wrong side of the map (favors north).
4) North retreat paths (GREEN) force units back by house #3 which leads to more wipes (favors south).
5) The timings to house #1 and #2 favor the south base.


REVISION 09 LAYOUT

1) House #2 swapped with hedge rows next to it. This mirrors the left side of the map. Now house #2 also covers the fuel and munition on its side. The right hedges were adjusted to better mirror the left side openings (AQUA).
2) The North retreat path (GREEN) was improved by rotating the large grove by the fuel, opening the stone wall, and creating a new opening in the north base area. The new base hole better mirrors the path the south base has on its east side.


There were several smaller changes such as:
A) The base sizes are closer in size. South base was too large and let south player build buildings closer to frontline.
B) The south front cutoff was too close to house #3 and it was farther from the south base. It was moved and the green cover near it was removed as it was not as needed to offset the house anymore. It also opened up capping options since most players wired off the wall first thing.
C) Several houses were removed to better mirror North/South.
D) Several fence openings were made larger so AT guns could move thru them.
E) Base bunkers were adjusted since south base could be entered around the right MG.
F) The south left point was moved away from base MGs to make it safer to cap.
G) Bases were moved away from the play area as much as possible to protect from arty drops etc.
H) Pathing out of the Northeast base area was improved for light vehicles.
I) Red cover roads were adjusted to make it safer to cross roads in heavy traffic areas. Some cover was removed and a large yellow cover splat was added at the center crossing. Much red cover was left in to aid in retreat wipes.
J) The minimap was remade/fixed from original which was incorrectly sized.
