Apart from steering the discussion heavily offtopic, shouldnt you also as a moderator be unbiased?

I think he does a pretty admirable job of keeping a relatively toxic place readable while also being a regular person/player.

I would probably wager that he doesn't get paid very much to do this shit and if the price we have to pay is that he can talk like amongst the rest of us like a regular dude, then it's really not so bad.

also topicstarter, why don't you take the time to muster a ontopic reply to all of our earlier ones? Or was it just to troll?

He's entitled to his opinion like everybody else, and he's brought forth plenty of arguments throughout this thread to back his position up. Also this was clearly more humorous than serious.

Starting a topic does not at all mean that you need to answer every reply, especially if the arguments put forth have already been countered.

Why don't you stop being so judgmental by adding in offtopic comments like mocking how many replies this thread has as if the OP has any control of how much discussion their thread generates. I don't understand how you want him to reply more and at the same time want to make fun of how many replies this thread has.

You are right. He does have an opinion. Why I am replying to you as his spokesman of sorts is beyond me. But okay.

I'm sorry you feel I am coming off as judgmental, or to give you the idea that I am making fun of of the amount of replies. There's actually a deeper underlying sentiment I was trying to convey, but it didn't convey properly, judging by your reply.

I just feel that people are pouring time and effort into well written replies (read and emphasize the word 'people' here as I don't feel I am nowhere near expertly enough on the subject to weigh in as I'd like to) when all we get from the original topic starter seems to be more emotion than logic and no responses from him as how'd to interpret his post.

Coming back to the topic at hand. Whenever I get USF pack howies against me, the counter seems easy enough (unblob, werfer or stuka) and therefor the unit does not seem overpowered. When I use them against an opponent who is blobturtling and has no clue I have the best of times, because the risk/reward paid off. But sometimes a smart axis player wipes them not 5 minutes after I buy 2 of them making me rethink my poor choice.

But thats life. In my (limited but growing) experience they either work or they don't. Not much middle ground here.

I noticed this with rangers as well! I dismissed it at first as unlucky rng but after many tests rangers overperform.

By game design usf infantry is meant to be superior to a point. At the beginning not too much and then mid to lategame the same squad with vet should carry the game. Other squads would be specialists so one is enough unless your enemy were massing a single unit, risking their game in that movement.

Well written post do elaborate arguments better. Always

Emotion is a undeveloped argument than only its owner can refine to logic statements, therefore to listen his reasons can lead to good discussions and objective solutions, or not. Its a risk we all agree to take.

Finally pak s not as easy to cou te as you describe, because you sound like you always have resources, but mostly important it how damaging is pak howie vs its owner faction and costs. Usf really dislikes to pay that much of MP but since mp is a free resource, you only wait for it.

We all know that pak is vulnerable but the rest of units in a well played formation hardly is as vulnerable.

I'm not acting as his spokesperson, like I said I think everybody is entitled to their opinion.

The problem with the unblob/Stuka/Werfer counter is that unblobing doesn't even address the issue and Stuka/Werfer are far more expensive than the pack howie and aren't worth buying to counter one team weapon, sure you can use them again but rocket arty isn't always worth the investment against certain maps and playstyles, especially if you buy them early and delay other vehicles. The reason unblobing doesn't work is because it's not even the problem with the pack howie, the issue isn't how good it is against four clumped squads, the issue is how it deletes individual squads and team weapons so easily even after the mortar update that affected every other indirect fire weapon in the game.

Even if you manage to destroy and capture a pack howie, chances are that it's already more than payed for itself because unlike every other mortar and the ISG which only bleed manpower, the pack howie will have wiped at least one squad or team weapon.
