The new Ostheer commander adds the P IV Ausf H variant. But in what way, shape or form is it different from the already 2 variants existing in the game?

Thanks

The "h" in the notes is a typo, they mean the "J" variant which is the OKW variant.

Could someone please give me run down on the differences between the Ost and OKW piv's?
side skirts on the okw probably means it starts with better armour and health.
Is there a difference in any other stats?
Damage, accuracy, speed etc?

"H" = OST

"J" = OKW

140F
J armor: 234 frontal, 80 rear
HP: 640
better scatter than "H" (better vs infantry and landing non-natural hits vs armor)
Vet 5
Combat blitz

120F
H armor: 180/80 pre vet 2, 234/90 vet2+
HP: 640
slightly worse scatter than "J" variant
vet 3
Blitzkrieg (slightly worse than combat blitz)

BalanceTeam should also look at the icon of both P4 variants. Currently they are in diffrent factions so there wasn't any issue with that. But now with new ostheer commander there is a possibility to have both P4s on the field in same time. That cause issue for the player to distinguish them on minimap and tactical map.

Thanks for that.

There was absolutely no reason to give Ostheer this unit. They already have a Panzer IV that is basically the same thing at vet 2. Completely stupid.

Didn’t the real ausf J variant get rid of the power traverse in the turret? I think that could make for an interesting variation if the J was superior in armor, gun and MG performance, but it’s turret turned significantly slower. That would make the H the flanker/maneuver warfare unit and the J is the slugger with better stats but can be more easily flanked. The combat blitz ability could also increase the turret rotation so Veteran Js could spend munitions to mitigate its slow turret weakness.

The J was supposedly more of a retrograde vehicle built because it was easier to manufacture than previous versions.
