Sov King = Commissar (from missions)
Sov Queen = female scout sniper

if coh2 was to be made into chess for each faction seperately, which unit would fill which role on eiter side?

Well there is only one King in the Ostheer: The KING-Tiger!
I play mostly 1v1 and my post are with 1v1 in mind.

Queen: Elephant (Shoots you everywhere)
Rook: Sniper
Bishop: Vet 3 Pgrens (show up, kill everything)
Knight: Panzer IV
Pawns: Grens (duh)
Sov:
King: T34-85 (you never use these)
Queen: Vet 3 SU85
Rook: SU85
Bishop: SU85
Knight: Shocks
Pawn: Cons
King: Tiger
