USF's Paratroopers are designed as one of the most elite infantry in the game.
This unit requires 3cp, 380 manpower, and specific commander(Airborne and Recon), need to beacon for landing zone are among the biggest requirements of this game.
However, I am skeptical about whether this unit is worth using.
Basically Paratroopers have two additional weapons at the Airborne Company; One is Thompson SMG, and the other is 1919A6 LMG.
In both cases I would like to question efficiency, but if you concentrate more, Thompson Paratroopers is really a serious problem.
They have exactly the same target size and squad size to 'Conscript' after 1veterancy.
(1v: 1.00, 2v: 1.00, 3v: 0.71)
This is a huge penalty for CQC specialist infantry.
It also compares significantly with the ppsh conscript in terms of cost-effectiveness.
Are USF Paratroopers really worth using? I think this is underpowered.
For some of these reasons I do not even remember when it was the last time I saw Paratroopers in the games of the top ranked players.
How did you guys think about this?

i have used them on maps like Lierneux very effectivly, because of the narrow paths and ambush options.
But on all other maps, i rather go for the LMG1919A6 LMG, because as you stated, the Thompson Paras are very squishy and can die too fast that you can't come close, nor use the ability

LMGs are just better, but in Urban combat or when cutting off retreats, they can do some of the highest dps in the game.
It's a hisk risk and high reward unit with SMGs, LMGs are the safe option and really, the reason people would get them since they still can double them up.

Yes they absolutely are.
T34 85 needs to have slightly less AI. It's shells are basically on par with Sherman HE yet it does everything.

It does indeed. I dont know why Relic is keeping those early coh 2 trashcommanders who noone uses - ever. it seems all they are interested in when making changes, is to sell the 2 pay ones 
(which kinda makes sense since they dont make any money with games sales anymore) but still.. feels bad man

until 3CPs you already have 3-4 Riflemen. Unless the die I see no point in those guys.
You can hardly start with 2 Riflemen as USF and go to 3CP.
Therefore I do not see the point in them.

Hey now, airborn is good too, it needs some fixes(paratroopers could upgrade faster).
But paratroopers with thompsons are a great unit, imagine using them in a map like vilshanka for instance.

But thompson paras do scary amounts of damage if you can be smart with them. It's really one of the only reasons to use the commander lol.

i think airborne is the one in need of a rework here... how about introducing a P-47 loiter strafe aswell and a new interesting ability...
P-47 air supremacy...
50 muni 1 minute shutdown of all axis air missions including the stuka divebomb... airborne troops can be reinforced from anywhere in map for a minute aswell...

About airborne i am 4vs4 player and i really enjoy 2 early pathfinders escpecially on maps like stepes then i go captain>ambu>at gun>howtizer>mg drop>paras with thompson>major>jackson and this works pretty good but i guess this works only because rest my team make sextons or priests in lategame so i can focus on recon with my 3star pathfinders for arty or jacksons

3 Rifles -> LT -> 1 para works well.
Pathfinders are overrated, don't bother. Paratroopers are the best american squad in the game.

Paratroopers are the best american squad in the game.
Paratroopers are probably the strongest squad in the game. Can't think of any other squad that can 1v1 them if both players play it as they should.

New shocks maybe, but StG obers give them a real run for their money if they utilize war crimes grenade.

I think using white phosphorus shell against human should be treated as war crimes, too.

Pretty sure it is nowadays. Most european countries banned the use of fire weapons after the 2nd world war as well.

I think LMG Paratroopers can solo any squad if you cheat and use surpresssive fire + grenade.
