OH - Early 2018 1v1 tournament meta

Soooo, after SCC5 I wanted to do a meta analysis. However, turned out that only a few players actually uploaded replays so the whole thing wouldn't have been representative at all. So, eventually, I extended the replays I used to all replays from SCC5 as well as Tric's SMC, which brought the total count up to 147 replays. I planned to write a proper newpost about this, alas real life interfered so I never got around doing that, and now we are past the next patch and in the next tournament, so this info could very well be considered obsolete :(

Still, for later reference I thought I put out the stuff that I had. In particular the table for the build orders below are lengthy and there is restriction about how long forum posts can be, so I will post these one faction at a time. This one is on the 62 OH games.

In case you are wondering what stuff means (colors of text and so on: This uses the same scheme as in this post. Also: I don't know the win/loss rate for the games here as this info isn't contained in the replay files.

And it is happening right now so people are focusing on it, perhaps it would be good to try something like this with these tournaments?

I certainly intend to do this for GCS2. Gotta think about the best way to do this, though...

This is why I keep saying that Ost urgently needs a light tank as a stock unit. Ost are forced to go to panic puma every game, specially against T70 early rushes.

This is why I keep saying that Ost urgently needs a light tank as a stock unit. Ost are forced to go to panic puma every game, specially against T70 early rushes.


They are not forced to be honest, it's just why would you want to lose map control to a light vehicle like the t70 if you can get a mobile counter out immediately, it's just how the meta is at the moment and OH as a faction doesn't need the puma or any light vehicle to counter the t70 to survive.

It is absolutely no surprise that Mobile Defense is highest in people's loadouts, even if this data is 'obsolete'. Just having it in the load screen is an advantage because it threatens direct counters to vehicle rushes. Your loadout is your first move in every CoH2 match, after all. ;)

The EFA factions have relatively few strategically unique commanders without overlap. Mobile Defense offers a strategy that no other commander offers. And it just so happens three out of three allied factions are readily capable of exploiting OH's weaknesses via early vehicles.

Very well, organized :thumb:

Downloaded all replays now; seems like the replay for G1 of VonIvan vs. Torano is incorrect (seems to be a game vs. the AI). Any chance the correct replay is available somewhere?
