Was looking at the steamgraph for all time statistics:

It's pretty sad that a game like CoH2 has such a small online player base.
Does anyone have any numbers about how many ppl are playing campaign/SP?
It's strange because this happened. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/07/31/sega-has-strong-first-quarter-380000-copies-of-company-of-heroes-2-sold--.aspx
Cheers
What can we do as a community to increase the player base?

It's not strange, the marketing did a very fine job. The developers just didn't it.

Stop making complain threads for every unit in the game?
But seriously, just participate in tournaments, watch streams and just promote it to your friends. Share all the social media from us, COH2.ORG, all the other content makers and the offical sources.

You can't do anything without proper tools. When we get those, serious things may be done.
Until then, play, do some VODs, play in some tournies, stream. That's about it.

Maybe less complaining just to complain and more coming up with solutions. So negative sometimes.

I'll stop being negative when the game is patched to being playable. I can't in good conscience promote a game to my friends that I get pissed off and frustrated at the balance of it. I didn't recommend SC2 to my friends until a few months into the game, because when it started it was dominated by cheesy strats.
Basically, people will come back to this game when they start hearing good things about it, which we could either lie and say the game is fine and then they'll leave again when they play it, or we could wait for better balance to start promoting it.
Not to be a negative nancy though. I think next patch should be the beginning of the beginning for this, given that they're focusing on early game and late game, which is kind of the only frustrating parts right now.

Relic could reavtivate the -dev mode they deactivated on purpose.
And the forum has about another 100 good suggestions, but they won't listen, so why bother at all?

The best way to increase the player base is to link people to my YouTube channel all the time, all over the Internet.

Not including the Lobby in a RTS game, is a strategic disaster, how are you going to keep the 90% of the causal players?
