Hi, I think the best first move you can do when playing teamgames is to find a bunch of teammates you can rely on, so you won't be matched with anyone selfish, arrogant or simply inexperienced.

Because it is impossible to look at the whole teamplay, especially when you were unarraged, then I will only focus my review on your play, build order and most common mistakes.

PS: You cannot convince anyone to not troll or to play selfish unless you know him a bit. That's why I recommend you to find teammates.

EDIT: Just for confirmation, this is you ? https://www.coh2.org/ladders/playercard/steamid/76561197997126975
(because there were 2 British players in the match)

The honest truth is that you well never get a consistent gaming experience in a 4v4 and have very little potential to improve. Playing 4v4 should mainly be done just for having fun, or perhaps if you want to practice some particular strategies and doctrines that you are not used to.

If you want to improve your core game, your best bet is playing 1v1. It can be stressfull as hell and you'll have no one else to blame when you get your ass kicked, but it is a great way to learn and immensely more satisfying when you can feel yourself improving.

Hello ctorres, here is my promised review.

I will try simple as possible, by pointing out mistakes you have done and providing you with a solution in a simple list. So lets beggin :)

  • In the early game you have choosed a bad map location to fight on and also your fights were not the most successful ones. In the end your team didnt gain a real advantage because your army was occupied by securing the munnition point. If you had helped your teammates instead, you would have seized much more important map locations. You can see what I am reffering to in this image (arrows show where you should have focused your army)

  • Your early game machine gun play can be improved as well. In my opinion your machine gun was too static and it would have done much better job if it was a bit mobile and supported your units during the fights a bit more. I recommend you to watch some games of Sturmpanther - here is his twitch channel - he has such an exceptional HMG play that it even shocked me when I saw it for the first time.

  • In the mid game your build order felt rather clumpsy. You didnt use the manpower you had. A single AT gun would have done a much better job than idle stockpiling manpower, for example it could have scared the Luchs at 15 minute mark so you wouldnt have to full retreat your little blobbie. Or you could have bought a sniper, to countersnipe pesky jerry sniper :)

  • Also I think the AC was a mistake, because it came too late. If you want to build AC, go for it the moment you have fuel to acquire it. You had fuel to buy a Cromwell, when you started to requisition AC.

  • Lets move into the late game now. I think you should be more passive and attack with your army a lot more. Idle squads are good for nothing. Your team was losing the fight because you did not support them as much as you could. If you were a bit active, I think you would be able to carry your team into the victory.

  • Another fact is, that you was stockpiling your reasources even more in the lategame, and your army composition wasnt ideal as well. When you see that one of your teammates is going for full arty spam, then support him with good tanks and AT weaponry (and a few elite infantry) and not another 2 artillery pieces and dozens of infantrymen. Here you can see how your army was behind the frontline, while other were fighting. For a longer period of time

Here you can see your resource float

and here you can see your army composition

  • If I were you, I would have spent those reasources in your bank, suicide Infantry section, buy Bren guns for Commandos and buy Comets or Fireflies once some of your population cap is freed. This way you would be able to maintain much stronger army composition, be more agressive and also support your teammates better.

  • When it comes to teammates, I have to agree with you that Allies have it harder, because they need to coordinate themselves more. But still if you ADAPT to your teammates army roster and lead them by example, you should be able to easily carry them into the victory. Even more when of the axis players is replaced by Easy AI from the beggining of the match.

  • Last but not least, I want to talk into your heart. Never, and when I say never, then never. Never steal American tanks when they are being repaired. It is really ugly and against the codex of fair game behaviour. You really think that the player, whom you stole a tank, would listen to your orders ? I dont think so.

    :hansUSA: + ukfukf = :sibToxic::banned::sibToxic:

Hopefully these little tips will help you to improve yourself. With improvement comes better teammates and with better teammates you can set up a good team and fully enjoy teamgames.

And as Joshua already said, teamgames are for fun. If you want to play more competitive matches, then switch to 1v1 (where it is much easier to distignuise your mistakes from mistakes of your team, because you = whole team).

Good Luck Commrade, both in game and in finding good friends to play and enjoy the game together with,
Hector
