I saw a post on the community forums complaining about the target priorities for tanks. I know a lot of people get frustrated with circle strafing stuff as it is so difficult to get your tank to keep firing at the damn SU-85.
Adjusting target priorities might help a bit, but what about "direct fire" mode for the Elefant, Pak43, the ISU-152, et. al?
I would be quite happy for my Elefant to only engage the targets I select and to fire at them until they are destroyed or out of LOS. I really do not want those units turning to fire at some stupid engineer half a map away because that's the only thing in its LOS.
This could also be one way of slightly nerfing the ISU-152, which is overly devastating to infantry I find. If you have to manually pick new targets with it every time, Ostheer infantry on the field might last a bit longer once one of these roll out. This might make the game a bit more difficult for players with lower CPM, I suppose, but for those of us in higher skill brackets, I think it would be much preferable. I would much rather have direct fire rather than autofire because every second counts in a competitive game and the reload times on those units are awfully long.
How about Direct Fire mode for the super tanks/emplacements?

This has been an issue with all of Relic's games for a long time now. If they knew how to fix it they probably would have already.

Permanently Banned Micro to attack ground. Though this requiresAPM, it has the added benefit that an overshooting shell will hit the intervening armor unit.

Oh good one, I always forget about attack ground. I'll try it on a super tank, the accuracy should suck though I assume.

It'll not be much worse than actually aiming at your target, as there's only a 5% chance to roll an automatic hit, the rest is up to scatter.
Sometimes it'll even be better to attack ground, in the case of your ISU targeting the soldier that's far away from the rest of his squad.

tank will keep attacking the last enemy unit you've selected no matter you give it maneuver order or not~

Yes but it picks a new target when the last enemy is out of sight, this is particularly annoying when he just turned the corner and you're chasing knowing he is there but your turret turns 180 degrees to shoot another target
quite frustrating on heavy tanks with slowmoving turrets

it's 10000 times better than it was in DOW2, in DOW2 tanks tend to attack the cheapest crap as a priority target...makes kitting almost impossible......
after all, the new devs are not those in 2006, give them time......

Yes, seriously. It kills tanks as quickly as an SU85, decimates infantry like a Brumbar does (actually better since it is shooting at smaller squad sizes), and it does this from a range similar to the Elephant. It just needs to have a nerf to armor penetration so that it isn't anti-everything, and logically a slow moving HE projectile should not penetrate that often.

I love how the Lascannon prioritized Slugga Nobs over vehicles.
