A month ago I released the Retro CoH mod, which converts your CoH2 game into CoH1 base game. This is for all the nostalgic people like me, who think the old game was much better than what we got now.
You can play as Germany (Wehrmacht) or USA (Allied Forces) with the three well known doctrines (commanders are disabled). All units, buildings and abilites got changed to fit to Company of Heroes 1. Only very limited deviation have been made to adopt the gameplay into the new game engine.
The major work has been done, but I can't properly balance the game against AI. For now the units have the exact same stats as in CoH1, but not all properties behave the same. That causes little deviations from the original game which I now want to determine.
Please have a look at the mod and help me finish it by your feedback. For me it is very important that you get the feeling like in those great old days while playing my mod.
