Most people put it as happy medium between BF (not the new ones, more like BF2) and Arma. Easy to get into but highly realistic with communication as the key. It is a PvP only game. The team is structured around several squads with squad leaders as the head honchos with their own mic frequency discussing broader strategy and tactics. Each squads have many specialist roles which are crucial in winning the game.

There are vehicles, too, and while there is not too many right now, anybody who is familiar with Project Reality Mod for BF2 will know that the end goal of this currently-in Alpha game will have vehicles up helicopters, main battle tanks. If you check out its reddit page or forums, you'll see that the game gets updated every month at least with big additions frequently.

It charges a fair price of 40 bucks :).

I'm interested, but I've heard it still feels pretty EA. With far too much to choose from right now, I've decided to wait.

Soooooooooo tell me more!

pretty EA? i dont know what that means.

i can tell you that their debelopment methods are transparent, speedy and has a very big goal. and i believe they will achieve that goal because they already did with project reality mod when they werent paid at all.

in terms of game, think of it as more hardcore Red Orchestra. with even more realistic small arms combat. logistics to arty fire support all depend on the players.

I meant "early access", which is to mean it very clearly still needs more developing. I do too believe they will achieve those goals as well, I've heard enough of Project Reality without ever playing it to assume that.

Logistics, huh, kinda heard about that but I think I have a better idea on the scale of it now. There are game modes with an overarching goal, right?

the intro vid does a good job.

its early access because the scope is too big and they can't work on no budget for 5 years. it's not because it is full of bugs and OP stuff.

logistics as transporting people, building your own Forward Operating Base (spawn points), driving supply trucks to FOB to give 'supply' points so a squad can fortify with sandbags, HMGs, etc.

Not really overarching goal. two main modes are AAS-Assault and Secure and Insurgency.

AAS has flags that teams have to capture. They have to be captured in specific order (2 attack flags and 2 defend flags at most). INS is where one team has undisclosed 'cache' locations and try to defend it while the attacking team search and destroy it (they can get location of the cache by killing lots of enemies.

IMO it's stunningly not EA-like:

good visuals, good performance, few bugs and glitches

and it's JUST AWESOME!! that game idea i've been waiting for ages
