COH2 game will not start

hey, im playing coh2 since (beta) day one. the game was always running fine on my mashine till a few weeks ago. the game simply refuses to start. (steam of course)

since i got no help at all from the lousy steam community or anyone else i thought maybe can help me here.

problem:

when i start steam and click COH2 in my library - nothing happens. excep in friends window, i can see my status changing to "playing coh2" for about 3 secs.

in the library windows its saying: running - syncing - nothing.


sys: xeon x5650 6x 4GHZ 32GB RAM geforce 970 asus strix

windows 10 pro with Sphinx firewall controll (something like little snitch on mac)


i reinstalled steam and downloaded the whole games two times now. off course i tried to validate game files via steam about 20 times (this always did teh job in the past when the problem came up)

i reinstalled graphics drivers two times.

i think the problem is somehow related to the stupid geforce experience software and maybe resolution "optimized" settings. i cant edit any settings in the geexp app because its not working correctly (even after complete clean reinstall)

i just disabled the windows firewall and deinstalled sphinx firewall control. geforce experience was installed correctly.

it finds coh2 after scan. when i click play nothing happens (except see above)

gefexp says for coh2: unable to retrieve settings. try again later.

fuck geforce crap software, should have stayed on the AMD side

so format c: is the last resort. thanks geforce morons

deinstalled nvidia geforce shitperience

still not starting.

can i edit any .ini or config files to force a certain resolution?

any beta drivers? cmon guys

not just their support. they are morons. bad programming. no service, nothing.


like i said i completly wiped steam and the game two times. nothing changed. i do work with my comp, so i cant just hit format c:

+1, I cant even INSTALL the game using steam without it crashing steam completely. I updated to Windows 10 Anniversary and it just went downhill from there. over 500 hours in the game and now it just bricks steam everytime I try to do anything with it.

does anybody know where to find any coh2 or/steam crash log files ?

i cant find any. i also dont have a "mygames/coh2" folder, this might be caus i couldnt start the game once

There was a issue a while ago where anti virus software was thinking COH2 was a virus and wouldnt allow it to run. Be worth disabling your anti virus software and seeing if it runs after.

Try updating your drivers, i froze a lot last times i played and saw my pc didnt tell me i had a driver update. Maybe check that? ^^ Otherwise i wouldnt really know srry...
