CoH2 Menu - Twitch Section Improvement
So basically on the twitch section of the front page I think they should list the most popular streams with a number of viewers next to them rather than a random list. This would benefit the community as new players will watch decent players while learning and engaging more with the community than if it was just a random streamer with no viewers. Furthermore this would help increase the viewer base for the popular streams and therefore the game will become more popular and the community will get larger as a result.

Hans just wants more viewers, thats all. Lets adjust CoH2 the way Hans wants it and screw every other new streamer
You honestly think that I would screw over new streamers? How dare you say that. For your information I always promote new streamers on my stream thank you very much.
The argument could be made that randomizing it helps newer twitch streamers gain viewers.
coh2.org does this already. Why would you need most popular views...
Randomising would be better.
Unfortunately newer twitch streamers do not have the experience that is needed to know how to be successful in streaming and have a small number of followers and there is no incentive for people to stay and watch. As a result they hardly get any viewers. So this benefits no-one. By letting more popular streamers take the stand, newer players would be more likely to stay, watch and get involved with he community as they can see that these guys are well-established by the number of viewers, followers and professional overlays who know what they are doing.
So please explain to me how randomizing would be better.
I'd prefer a bigger list rather than just the three that we have at the moment.
I think a list would definitely be better than what we have currently. Either way the twitch section needs improving.

Vouched. Hans has been very generous with his time, much more so than any of the other streamers out there. Considering the amount of time he streams himself and still takes time out to help others is more than impressive, it's admirable.

If you do it that the top streamers get listed, you're suppressing newer streamers. You already have a viewer base from previous games. If your stream is good and well promoted, it will grow naturally once you hit the 100+ regular viewer threshold.
Your argument is that new guys don't have experience so just give you + other streamers the viwers. That makes no sense. One would think that you let streams grow or fall on their own merits as opposed to who has the most "experience".
So, instead of facilitating monopolization, I would rather it be randomized.
Regardless, that Twitch menu needs added functionality anyways. It isn't informative, and it should be filterable.

The reason I'd argue randomizing is better is that when people look at streams and see 3 guys with 100+ each and then a dozen or so trailing with 5 or 6 people, there might as well just be the three guys.

Agree on that. If you want the game to succeed as a whole you need more streamers with an average amount of viewers than just 3 uys sitting on 150 + and the rest at 5-10 viewers.
This is why Hans your idea looks selfish.

It is not intended to be a selfish idea. It makes more sense then having random new streamers in the main page. If I were a gaming company and I wanted to promote my game in the best possible way you would look to the die-hard community guys that are already well-established and are professional rather than those who are not and new to the scene. I know it may seem unfair at first but if you want a community to grow fast this is a good way of doing so. Anyway I personally go and promote other streamers when I have the time to do so. People are much more likely to go to a stream that I have suggested rather than them finding it on there own.

There's just not enough space for more than 3-5 channels, and of course it should be organized by the number of viewers - some are more popular for a reason

I agree haha, we need to fix the ui where hans stream is always at the top, whether he is online of offline! otherwise, the game is broken.

If the goal is to promote the GAME, then popular streams should probably get precedence.
If the goal is to support NEW STREAMERS, then the streams starting with 0 viewers should get precedence.
I'm pretty sure I could guess what relic's goal in having the list up there is. Since streamers with more viewers have them for good reasons (most of the time), who do you think will be a better promotional tool for the game and growing the community?
It wouldn't hurt to have a link below the short list for "more streams" either.
This is not the only game to do things this way with live streams, and it's a smart idea.

Hans is right though that for new players learning the game, more popular streamers are typically better, because they have their shit together, compared to some random ass person who just turns the twitch button to "on" whenever the play.

This isn't all too dissimilar from how I went from super casual in vcoh to playing more regularly myself. It may not promote the game in a way of a direct sale, it's just in more indirect ways.
