Hi there, I have a question regarding getting a map back in to worldbuilder after I lost it.

3 years ago I started on a map, and I have several copies of it. But I have lost the last and final i made.

The following I have , I have uploaded it on Steam 2-3 years ago and you can play it.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=306012582

...but as I am missing a background loading picture I need it back to work on it....

But at some point in history I have reinstalled COH2 and in the progress deleted the final map.

I have other backup maps, but they a 1 month older then the one uploaded and thus missing a lot of the details from the final map, and as I can not remember what those changen are, I would like to get the final map back.

Now my question is following, can I some how get the map downloaded from steam?

I know that Coh2 is install in 2 places in you computer, the Steam folder and the COH2 folder under my game folder, the steam folder is where you work on your map though worldbuilder and the COH2 folder is where the subscription map are to be found, but only as a number.

Is there any possibility to get it back or do I need to do it the hard way, and reload a older version of the map and then go though what details I am missing. Then rename the map to the exact same as the one uploaded and the upload it. Can you do this or would the currently subscribers los the map in there subcrition if I do this?

best regards

Hope you can help me out.

I'm new to this site but i may or may not be able to help... I'm not too sure what you're asking.. But here goes..

If you don't have a copy of your finished map and can not get a copy online then the asnwer is no.

Can you not create a new background loading pic?

You could maybe subscribe to that, Then extract the SGA and edit it.
Extract Map -> https://www.coh2.org/topic/16147/tool-map-extractor

Hope it helps.. I was unsure what you wanted.

yes

re-download your map from steam, find it on your drive. the maps i am subscribed to are in "C:\Users\NAME\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes 2\mods\scenarios\subscriptions"

then use this tool. https://www.coh2.org/topic/16147/tool-map-extractor

but the maps will not have their names, just some numbers. when you extract the SGA files, you get alot more files in a folder named same as the SGA file you extracted. One of them is SGB, the file you drag into the worldbuilder. If you have many maps downloaded, finding out which of the SGA files is your map can be quiet hard. you just gotta extract and check it on the worldbuilder.
