How does one know which skins will be shown in mp nowadays?
My mommy always said there were no monsters - no real ones - but there are.

I guess he is asking how to distinguish mod skins and official skins, to know which ones are going to be visible by the opponents in automatch.
My answer is: chceck in modding hub. Or check the description.
Also remember that official skins come in two types: historical and unhistorical ones, it's quite easy to distinguish them if you have a tiny bit of historical knowledge. But why is it important? Becouse there is a toggle in menu that allows players to hide unhistorical skins and it also does it in custom games, not only automatch. So if you are playing automatch you will never know if other players can see your unhistorical skins. If you play with friends you can ask them to allow unhistorical skins in their game settings.

I can't see my own skins in mp when using non-official skins, I get default looks. Before there was a description "custom item" to tell the difference which now is replaced with "skin" or "vehicle skin". I then thought "skin" was the new "custom item" until an exception occurred.
