Panzer IV - this is me in one! I'm 5foot 11, these things were so freaking cramped inside, horrible. Barely got in to the hull gunner position, couldn't think of a worse way to go to war.

I heard the first British tank operations in WW1 frequently ended with its crew being unable to continue prematurely because of how goddamn hot it was inside them.

I heard the first British tank operations in WW1 frequently ended with its crew being unable to continue prematurely because of how goddamn hot it was inside them.
Not only that crew suffered from exhaust fumes inhalation, as the engine was open and in the centre of the tank, exhausts and proper ventilation came in later models.
Also British tankers did not wear helmets until 1943, they wore berets. It's the only time I've ever heard the phrase 'dislocated brain' to describe what happened to a churchill crew member after their tank rolled down a dune in North Africa.

Comet? Really? In WW2 ?! Make no sence.
It was used in the late of World War 2 (Market Garden for example). It makes perfect sence to cover it

I'm curious to know why the T-34 is designed with the turret so far forward, while nearly every other tank has it located centrally. Which seems the more intuitive place to put it.
Engine layout mostly, but check out the BT-5. See any similarities?
