My reasoning behind this is there a couple of issue that popped up that would have been noticed much sooner. The Sight bonus missing on Path Finders for instance. It's possible that I'm wrong.

I've actually been thinking of it myself (I'm a programmer myself) and what cuddletronic said makes sense. I've worked with Unity (a game engine) a fair bit, and I don't get how a GAME ENGINE will prevent you from simply applying stats to respawned units. But the question is, why did Kyle post it then? I mean, he's not a developer, so someone must have told him to.

I don't think thats important as long as the stuff gets fixed without another patchgate happening out of blue.

Cant wait to use that vetted units. Finnaly standart way of play for OH - trowing away squads and getting new ones will have more impact.
Those vets can really be a balance factor allowing to deal with overperforming oh t1 units at least if you survive vet0 stage.

Glad to see a fix is on the horizon.

Essentially, from launch of the game till today getting veterancy was like getting a participation trophy. It looked nice but didn't really mean anything.

Doesn't this have the potential to massively change late-game balance at all game sizes? This could possibly be the biggest balance shake-up in CoH history; I hope the balance guys aren't planning on doing anything but work for 72hrs+.

I hope some insta wipes mechanics gets removed them if vet is getting valuable again. (If you lose 4 man(full health..) vet 3 squads in lategame due a cheap 30muni mine will be GG)

They didn't do it when they thought infantry vet was valuable already anyway, so I wouldn't expect much.

*Sherman HE wipes an Ober squad in one-hit*

*Panzerschreck one-shots a Rifle squad hugging them*
