Commandos overnerfed

Either a cost reduction, ROF-nerf revert or new utilities is needed and I am counting on you b. 500-890(Vanguard) MP is too much for these guys.

Commandos are 350. The glider is 150.
The airlanding officer with glider is 540. In the glider you can build commandos for 350.
So they are not the most expensive ai unit.

The one from vanguard is better, but it isn't repairable and one could consider it as a required 'teching' in order to get access to the unit.

- They get a -75% received accuracy on retreat at Vet3
Also, their Ambush Bonus (+50% accuracy) is currently bugged:
- Only applies to the first model that fires
- The bonus stays there forever, until the model dies.
First, fix #Vetgate & Ambush bugs, and then we can see how that unit performs.

only the vanguard glider can spawn more commandos. commandos are effectively a 500 call in for the commandos regiment doctrine.
Commandos are, currently, the ultimate harassment unit (unique & fits their theme, I say)

let's assume the vet and ambush bug get fixed.
First, that smoke grenade and out of combat heal are the only bonus the commandos get at vet 3. it's situational and hardly that much more amazing compared to the usual vet 3. The vet2 bonus for the commandos are also kind of meh.

But for the other doctrine they are 350. And their reinforce cost is also based from 350, making them cheaper than Obersoldaten.
And you still get some utility from the glider in form of reinforcement and physic shenanigans.

Obersoldaten also gain INSANELY gamebreaking veterancy at Vet4 and Vet5. You don't see people complain about them that much though due to RNG squadwipes.

We completely agree on that.
If commandos merit a veterancy buff (and perhaps they do), I would rather see some DPS-increasing veterancy on that unit (rather some run-of-the-mill Received Accuracy bonus). This will reinforce their hit-and-run profile.
I find that their Vet1 ability is only useful if you want to plant a demo charge on negative cover (and don't want to be seen doing it).
PS: IMO the "free sprint" that Commandos get when they Ambush actually HINDERS their performance:
- You can't fire-on-the move while sprinting
- The enemy will immediately retreat if you close the distance to them
- Good luck hitting retreating squads if you don't chase after them
One minor buff would be to turn their annoying passive sprint into an ability (that the player can choose whether and when to activate); maybe at Vet1.

550 for a four man squad of commandos who can't place demos isn't very appealing.

Use them as an ambush unit, they have huge close range dps and can use their concealment to surprise the fuck out of lone squads. Far more effective when you know how to use them. They are a high skill high reward unit.

And no one is trying to use them like shocks (Who aren't that spectacular either). It takes too long till they deal some damage, thanks to fucking up with their ROF.

Commando Regiment glider should be 350 MP and be able to spawn Commandos and Anti-Tank Commandos.
