Hey there,
I have a 2500k which was running at stock and a stock r9 290, win 10 64bit, SSD, 16gb 2133-DDR3.
Then, I overclocked my 2500k (H60 liquid cooler) from 3.3ghz to 4.5ghz and I noticed my 2133mhz ram was only running at 1333mhz, which I then corrected in BIOS.
Now, when I play at 1080p all settings on maximum with AA on low I get 65FPS instead of my old 46FPS (CoH2 benchmark).
3dmark Vantage: also went up from 27000 to 33780.
OCing FTW.
Huge increase in performance: 46 to 65 FPS

Ah, sorry -
r9 290 - stock.
Some games benefit from faster memory. vCoH did not . Nor did unibengine benchmark.... and the other benchmarks I ran showed minimal benefit.
CoH2 may be more memory intensive ... ?
Or - somehow my 1333MHZ was acting as a bottleneck

That's a really impressive increase, good job! Imagine how many fps you'd get if the game was well optimised.
As for your overclocking skills...

So, your improvement is from actual ram frequency AND CPU OC?
I get the feeling it comes from your heavy CPU OC. Would you mind comparing?
