Just realised I've never even built one of these.
I don't mean in a simcity sense though, for instance with 80 range has anyone had any luck using them offensively?
Most 1v1 maps are roughly 300 by 300 or so so get into you opponents third and build a 17pdr to wreck his base maybe?
Anyone found a use for the 17Pdr...

Its not super great because of anti brit mortar problem or jagers/falch but I guess it's okay in team games. It's like all the rest of the brit emplacements. They lock down an area and provide a fallback position. That said, I'd much rather just have another tank instead.

I've used it once in a while if I needed some fast heavy anti tank to hold a KT or Tiger back until I get a decent tank on the field, usually when I hear the engine in FoW or my mate spots the tank and I don't have enough fuel to build a tank to deal with it at that point, at least in 2v2s some maps like minks pocket and Vaux are great for the gun since they're so open

I am a little frigid on building immobile emplacement in a game that craves for mobility and positionnement. By the time i can build one i already have a mortar empl or a bofor and sometimes both. Cutting my mobile force anymore is too much for me. I see tons of uses for it but it would change my earlygame drasticaly.

The only use for it, is to ask Relic why the hell they retained turtling stuff like the mortar pit and this abomination, as well as the Bofors, all garlanded with green Brace.
I guess you might justify the 17 pounder by arguing the Ost have their Pak43? But honestly, it is just too reminiscent of the broken Britz in COH1
