Why flamethrower on Strumpios?

No it doesn't.

Sturmpios greatest weakness was being shot from garrisons or heavy cover. Flamer heavily mitigates that except for at very long ranges. Any engagement in medium range sturmpios can win 1-1 more or less with the flamer.

I've found it incredibly useful.

What do people think about the timing of flamers? Do you feel 1cp is a bit too early considering that sturmpios are already quite potent early game?

it's early but i think it needs to be early to be a viable upgrade. the early game is when players have the least number of garrison counters available.

Yes it is pretty early and are very good for sturms but the other flamers are available from the start. (exept rileman)
