Every tourney has no shows, most of the time more than 20%.

We don't, but in almost every open tournament without entry fee, this will happen. Although I'm very hyped for OCF :hyper::hyper::hyper:

20% no-show is no big deal.

I just thought that ranting half would not show up, was spreading bad karma.

you could use 'Sign in through Steam' on the site in the future to automatically handle signups and check-ins.
then you could even use the ladders data you have to seed players and pass them to the Challonge API and have the brackets ready without lifting a finger

Pray less than that show up...we've got enough on our hands right now with that patch, no need to further complicate things with exceeding the Challonge bracket limit. o.O

Just joking with all this.

Congrats on the massive success and thanks for the effort to everyone involved!

I just hope it pays off. This is the biggest event in CoH franchise history as far as I know. Community made this happen, and .ORG staff are working hard on it. I was very hyped, but with this patch I don't know what to say. Even considering the Hotfix, I'm afraid that the amount of balance issues, cheese and bugs might hurt the whole effort. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think Ami cares considering he gets half the donated money ($5,000).

Ami cares. You may rest assured. If you knew the amount of effort he has been making for this, you would not have written what you have.

Most of the people have not a single clue how many effort/time it takes, to create this kind of event. And I am glad that there are people like Ami(and all the other ones ;))

Hey, I can really appreciate the amount of time put into the time and effort of organizing the event. Not even just the event but into CoH in general. Thousands and thousands of hours. I'm just saying what others are and it'd be nice if the money could be split with the other hard workers at coh2.org which (I've only heard) is not the case. If that's not true, please let me know.

Ami getting $5000? :snfPeter:

Where did you pull that statistic? All the most invested in this are getting paid, them being the admins and the heads of certain departments who put in extra man hours.

I don't care how much the staff make, this event is great and if earning money motivates them even more, so be it!

I just don't want Relic to... you know... ruin it for everyone.
