Why do YOU prefer Axis over Allies?

You know who you are Predominately Axis players. Why do you like Axis more than Allies? And why do you think most people prefer Axis?

U.S. Also lacks a little variety so I'm told.

Ostheer: Tightly designed (outside of T4 that is). It's linear, versatile and feels like it wasn't made by a vindictive wizard. When I'm playing Ostheer my commander choice augments my strategy rather than changing it entirely or making it artificially weak in other area's. The only issues the faction has is more vulnerability to RNG bullshit and having way to expensive teching without incentive TO actually tech.
OKW: Probably my favorite faction atm. I was pretty much totally read to switch to Ostheer as my preferred faction but the recent changes are pure sex and they reinvigorated my love for the faction. I enjoy how Relic just decided to say "fuck it lets make everyone sound evil and throw around super weapons" so naturally as a fan of 40k strategy games this was right up my alley. The desperate underdog feeling of OKW also is quite cool and I like how desperate many of the units sound. Of all the factions it has the most ability to come back from what can be sure defeats and it's very awesome.
The only real shitty things left in OKW are the gimmicks that are still left. They need to condense the factions units vet down to 3 (just make the 3 levels of vet they get be really fucking powerful) and remove the fuel penalty (raise the price of teching a little bit to compensate). That + a non-doc suppression platform for late game plus a Howitzer counter and OKW would be literally perfect.

I think the sheer variety of units is a big draw for a lot of players.

More variety in the axis factions. Also the USA is boring as hell so it's more like comparing 2 factions to 1.
not to mention they are still currently hogging and hoarding all of the best AT, armor and infantry in-game, the worst part is they want it to stay that way so they can keep curb stomping the allies like it was a piece of cake

German units are cost efficient and do their job.
not just cost effective from the sounds of it they probably get more bang for their buck out of their units which is quite a shame

To this day I still wonder why is the Axis search percentage so inflated. I have many hypotheses to why the Axis is so popular, but I don't want to say it just yet until I get to read the opinions from some of you.

btw hey north i saw ur youtube video of dat epic comeback for USF and i liked it. my only criticism was that you only had 1 RET to perform repairs instead of 2 (what? i like even numbers with the exception of 5. kinda wish M36 received a slight buff in the penetration department.

Your question is a bit loaded considering stats tell us that amount of people playing Axis and Allies is fairly similar at the top levels in 1's and 2's and while I'm no Axis only player I'll deffo comment on why I like both factions.

If we removed vet 5 and gave OKW full fuel income it would make the faction a lot less gimmicky. Balancing around gimmicks is dumb and forcing a player to artificially be behind the vehicle curve but giving more vet "in return" is silly because it forces players into strategies they don't like.
Relic is slowly moving towards a more realistic less gimmicky design for OKW, no more fuel penalty is just the logical conclusion of that.
