Soviet Early Game is too OP needs a rework

I just played a game which in the end I was about to uninstall the game. First I am not that a good player as well as not being a noob. The particular Soviet meta I am going to talk about is bullshit, boring and which I encountered the third time after the latest patch. Playing as Ostheer, I came across with a Maxim spam,any flanking was to be punished by another maxim thanks to it's quick setup.(You always prefer a qick setup over a greater arc if you can micro your HMGs well enough.) Like 5 minutes passed as he gained the map advantage with his maxims and then he gathered his scripts and equipped them with PTRS which is a joke. It can overwhelm any kinda infantry OST got at any ranges if vetted up and in a cover unless OST player can survive maxims.
I rushed for Ostwinds, they worked just fine but scripts can just melt it with a ZiS support.
As he produces nothing fuel-wise and auickly teches up, you feel kinda doomed. I want Relic to rework this maxim spam and PTRS blob again as the latest updates for PTRS changed shit. Here is the replay if you want a look into http://www.coh2.org/replay/37300/please-watch-relic-fix-this-thing

Maybe flanking rather than charging headfirst into the mg's would have served you better?

As I said, flanking doesn't work he just has his maxims covered by another one. And completely splitting your grens up is a death sentence for them.

I use snipers in some games but it's a tricky unit and german mortar isn't that great against 6 manned fairly quick maxims.

Let me share a few methods for beating maxims.
1. Sniper
2. Mortar
3. Pgrens in a 251 (good chance the maxim wont even be able to retreat)
4. 251 Flamer (which kicks insane amounts of ass)

I did the flamer thing and built three panzergrens. The thing is scripts eith PTRSs waste them both. Sad enough. And yeah, I'll sure use a sniper and a mortar next time.

There are enough counters to the problem he mentiont. Be happy that you didn't see a quad rush Kappa, since that's a 1000% loss.

Mortar HT works wonders against maxim/mortar spams with that incendiary barrage. You can combine the regular ostheer mortar with a mortar HT and it will work wonders.

There are some soviet strategies that are verry hard to counter especially in teamgames, for instance the one with the FHQ. But each one has its proper counter.

That's indeed a nice combo, since the MHT is like the normal mortar extremely potent to destruct weaponteams
