Bake.exe hanging with long skin filename

I now have a full set of skin textures for the AEF vehicles, but ran into a problem with the Bake command hanging on one of them. Specifically it was hanging trying to make the rgt for m4a3e8_sherman_easy_8_dif.tga. There was nothing significantly different about that file, and what it appears to be is that the filename (not the full path, just the file) is too long. It doesn't even read the file from disk - it just goes straight to pegging one cpu core indefinitely. It is one char longer than any of the others, and shortening it makes the Bake command work.

So what should I do? I didn't arbitrarily pick the filename "m4a3e8_sherman_easy_8" - that's their name which I suspect I have to follow exactly. For now I am going to try to bake the texture under a different (shorter) filename and then rename the resulting .rgt before running the Archive command. But I am hoping there is some simpler way I have overlooked.

I assume you mean burn.exe?

Shorten the path to your mod folder.
