Hope this is a good place to post.
Every time I open steam I am bombarded with ads, so that would make anyone do scans which is what I have done. I have also reinstalled steam and I still get this problem it's frustrating. I have contacted steam already just wanted to know if anyone on here has had this problem before and could help. Bare in mind I dont have any ads on my internet browser only steam.

ads on steam? first time i hear that.
What i do have ins constant news and events from Grey Goo community, a game that i dont like, i dont have, and Im not part of the Steam community.

I have scanned the computer like crazy.

Steam support won't help you with tech issues. Your PC is infected by malware.
I assume you tried the usual candidates? Like...
https://www.malwarebytes.org/,
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download
https://www.avast.com/index
If that doesn't help, you can always go deeper and do some research on the malware itself.
