Tank Support Mechanic for Infantry

I think everyone knows that tanks (or even light vehicles?) provide green cover for infantry as long as they [tanks] don't move.

I was thinking about a new mechanic that would allow infantry to "follow" a tank and thus receiving green cover while they advance.

How this would work:

1. Get a tank :foreveralone:
2. Move an in infantry squad close to the tank so that it receives green cover
3. Activate the new ability "support tank" (or whatever name would be appropriate)

If you now move the tank, the infantry squad will "stick" to the tank (the tank will have severely reduced speed) while having green cover.

The cover would still be directional.

Would it be possible and, most importantly, would it make sense to implement such a mechanic?

I had found myself a couple times looking for this feature when I first started playing COH2.

How does this thing even work anyway?

Well, you can support tanks with minesweeper squads ATM as well. What would be different? Apart from the green cover for the minesweeper squad ofc.

Keep in mind that the tank would be pretty slow when the ability is activated.
