Hey guys,

iam trying out to make some own decals and skins.
I used the instructions on modding.companyofheroes.com.

It looks like everything works fine and the .sga files are copied to Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes 2\mods\...

But the problem is I cant see any decal or skin ingame.

I changed to the faction the mods are made for, but nothing shows up.

Maybe it could be a problem that my game isnt installed to the default path ?

Do you have any suggestions or maybe facing the same problem ?

Thx for youre help!

Greetings

Is it not showing up in your inventory, or not showing up in-game on your vehicle?

This started happening to me after I did the minor update to COH2 today...nothing I make now shows up in game, though anything I made prior to updating the game works just fine.

Check your warnings.log to see if your packs were rejected due to invalid file structure.

Also, check out my tutorial on decal packs to see if it helps.

So I tried it again with help of youre tutorials.

It looks better now, with a little time I now can see the decals and skins in the inventory and also ingame.

I only had a little trouble with which images to use.

Thx for youre help and thx for the tutorials !

-for making decals I used the wizard to get the default decal tga files. You linked jpg files in the description but it doesnt worked for me with them.

- with skins I needed to set the data folder with burn settings like shown in the decals tutorial
- for the folder structure in the data folder I have no clue where to find it, I used the example skin mod from relic and copied the folder structure
- I also didnt find different tga files like normal, only the dif
in the coh2 tools data there is only one skin file per vehicle and not summer and winter I think, so I also used the skin pack wizard to at least get some default dif tga files for every aef vehicle, summer and winter

Actually, those .jpg are templates provided for knowing what the different parts of the decal are used for. The actual source files are provided on my Github. I will be sure to make that more clear.

That is what my video erratum was for. I will probably just make a new video.

I showed how to get there with Archive Viewer.

The one texture file has layers you can turn on or off and save as the type of texture you need.

Thanks for the feedback, I will try to work on those areas!
