ModBuilder crashes on lauch

Hi,
so I figured I'd try it out now after the patch and downloaded it from Steam. I then proceeded to start it, and immediately the bloody thing stopped working. After reinstalling it, the same thing happened.

Does anybody have experienced the same, or better yet, a fix for this?

Any help is much appreciated :D

Can you give us more information? Such as Operating System, what the error was, etc.

I run Windows 8.1 Pro. I have tried running it in compatibility mode, as admin, I have made an exception in the anti-virus, but the problem remains that I don't get an error code or anything; the program just stops responding immediately after I run it. I know it's not much information about the problem, which is why I ask the forums for any advice :)

uninstall your coh2, clear all folders of coh2 (saved games,etc) in my documents. Then reinstall the coh2.

I'd rather not uninstall and clear everything. I still have some maps I 'd like to finish, and it seems overall like a last ditch solution when all hope is lost. I had some similar problems with the WorldBuilder, but that was fixed by making a shortcut and add something to it.
