Armor Company (US) vs. Mechanized Assault (Wehr)

Mechanized is good for the early jeep that can counter kubels. you can also go for light armor and use the refund to still rush early mediums. The artillery on it is amazing as well. The M3 is terrible though, don't use it. The commander is great for mobile play and tank rushes.
Armor gives you assault engis to mix up your early builds with so you don't have to do a full rifle opening, but they can be tricky to use right. M10 provides you with a great cheap flanking TD and the 105 sherman destroys infantry quickly, you can also skip major. The arty is a bit situational, but is is great for area denial or if your opponent has a lot of defences in one place. Good luck trying to make use of advanced vehicle crews though. Nice all rounder commander gives you a variety of units and abilities to take on a variety of situations.
I wouldn't say one is better then the other. They both act quite differently.

You may not take me seriously, but i love to switch vehicle crews with echelons and upgrade the crews with thompsons. They shred at short range. Good micro required. You may love to do it it, I like trying to use underpowered stuff too, but let's be honest. Putting 90 munis into a 4 man close range squad with no combat abilities or vet is ridiculously stupid. And despite the ability being active at 0cp, you can't even get a vehicle crew until after you tech and get either a stuart or M15 well after trying to use such a low durability squad is very dangerous.
The upgrade is great, but the vehicle crews are such a terrible platform for it. And the whole middle man of switching out the crew could be eliminated by just giving the upgrade to rear echelon.

Mechanized is I think the 2nd best commander right now, after Shock is2 docterine and just before Guards motor.
with that said I believe mechanized brings a lot to the table for Wher compared to Armored. Armored has some nice perks, but the regular Major tech has HE round shermans and Jacksons so Armored only brings a twist to the USF.
I do however from plenty of personal experience feel Armored is a competitive commander against mechanized. The M10 is a great counter, and is easy to get numbers with to swarm the later Tiger. The Bulldozer is a wiping machine that can tank quite a bit so these baddies can push back the lmg grens. They also can make un crushable heavy cover which is great.
Demos are always awesome too

Mechanized is more along the lines of my playstyle. The sherman bulldozer breaks the bank a bit too much to be a specialist. The stug e is cheap enough to be a specialist. The Tiger is a tiger, and the m10 is a specialist as well- which isn't what I like.
Both artillery are situational.

Against each other, the M10 beats off StuG's and can easily swarm a tiger. Ass Engineers aren't the best counter to Ass Grens, but they provide an awesome way to screen your rifles; any attempt to close in is met with grease guns. Demo charges are good and the dozer sherman is just some infantry killing as and when you need it.
The LeiG barrage is miles, miles more useful than the offmap 240 IMO.
On that matter: Is it true that the Railway and 240mm arty always land the first shell directly on target? I've not used the 240 with enough attention recently to check, but I used railway recently and it seems to hold true (not rigorous testing, ofc)

I tested using the crews with Thompsons versus upgraded grenadiers using two accounts. The vehicle crews couldn't close across open ground versus LMG grens. If they can surprise units by coming around a sight-blocker and starting the engagement at short range then they'll win. They are a lot tougher than RE's so the trade-off is a lot of toughness and short range dps versus having to pay for the munition upgrade. They do vet up really fast. All-in-all, it seems like a lot of micro for little gain.

I also have this feeling that they both kinda chose target, specially with the first shot.
