Teller mine prematurely detonating

in the last few games as OH tellers have been going off when units get near them but not close enough to actually cause damage. Is this a known bug or some weird feature? The USF player didn't know they were there as they were placed to protect my flanks and I had vision on them the whole time,He had no sweepers and did not see me place them. A flanking Sherman just drove straight over them and the mines detonated right before it was actually touching and did nothing...I almost lost the game because of that as he flanked all my support teams while my grens were out capping... is there anything I can do to minimise the chance of this? I can provide replays if anyone wants proof.

Sometimes Tellermines don't do damage, it's a bug that is caused because the trigger area is slightly bigger than the damage zone if I recall correctly.
Maybe it will be fixed with the patch tomorrow.

nothing you can do about it except not waste munitions on them.

Premature detonation is a serious problem that affects upwards of 25% of adult mines worldwide.
The poor mine can't help it, it is just so excited to finally get to penetrate (the treads).
