Hello Guys!

Are there more people suffer from memory leak with company of heroes? after 40-60 min in game my memory raises to 7.8GB (from the 8GB)! When it reaches its max the game starts laggen and FPS drops below 20 (normally above 80)! anyone has a solution?

Lol you two guys. :megusta:

Since I upgraded from 8 to 16 GB Ram I don't have those issues anymore. The only thing I experience after a few games are the ridiculously low amounts of frames in the menu.

But before I upgraded my pc I constantly restarted my game after each match :snfBarton:

i tried other stuff like starting a game on another map or so, but it doesnt work. interesting thing is, if you look at your task manager it wont show you the real amount of ram it uses

I have the same problem, on ubuntu it freezes after about 30min, so i have to reset pc, in system monitor i saw that memory consumed by coh2 increases over time until it gets all of 8GB of RAM. On windows it seems to work good(except menu stutters for a 1 minute after start but then it's ok). On windows i did not check if memory leak occurs.

Just keep in mind that you need more than 8GB to play this game optimally. You don't need 16GB, 12 is already enough.

Btw, RAM is super cheap nowadays and the game doesn't really need fast (and expensive) memory. I mean, the speed of memory is important, but it doesn't matter for coh2 if you have 8GB or less.

fun fact: even if you have 16gb (as i do) you will eventually run out of RAM aswell sometime, but before that happens, you will get hunted by pink units..

found a fix for the few people still playing coh 2.
if you have less than 8GB ram and get fps loss after two or more battles, i suggest you to use RAMMAP.

and to use this tool to clean memory between battles.

8 GB of ram is enough, there is no performance impact unless there is not enough RAM.

the symptoms you described is actually memory leak, which means that the program is not cleaning the memory and it keeps adding more stuff to it.
