Employees who stayed to the end believe Jason Rubin could have led THQ into the next generation of consoles. Some believe if the company was only able to release Metro: Last Light and Company of Heroes 2, it would have had the funds to make it through to the launch of the new consoles. One analyst Polygon spoke to believes if THQ had six more months and $60 million, it could have made it under Rubin's leadership.

Many of the IPs that were in development under Bilson, Davis and Rubin were sold to other studios and have since been released or will soon be released. South Park: The Stick of Truth and Company of Heroes 2 launched earlier this year. Evolve is slated to launch early next year. And a number of other titles like Homefront 2 are being developed by studios that acquired the IPs. Nordic Games also acquired the THQ trademark this year, giving it the rights to publish games under the THQ name.

I'm curious as to why Nordic Games would want to relaunch the name: were they thinking of the phrase 'a week in politics is a long time'? I realise that, cynically, people's memories can be short, but in a niche industry like gaming, I would have thought that memories are longer than just one week.
Looking further afield. e.g. neither Pan-Am nor Laker airways nor British Caledonian are used further in aviation, AFAIK; in UK, the "Hillman", "Morris", "Austin" "Jensen" and "Triumph" car brands have all gone and have not resurfaced, as far as I know.
Maybe an IP specialist like awa59 has another take on this, but I cannot see the virtue of acquiring a damaged IP brand. The potential for blowback in the vociferous IT industry (in this case) seems potentially enormous and self-destructive
