Two MG42's guarding each other works good in 2v2. However I find it pathetic that a 1200-1500RPM HMG is less effective at suppressing as a WW1 water cooled machine gun. Currently the MG42 holds one advantage: its huge arc, which is often useless due to the mapdesign.
The soviet HMGs do have:
- better survivability
- better mobility
- better deploytime
- better suppression.
Fun thing is: If you put a conscript squad on an captured it gets 6 models. I find this somewhat stupid.....
Anyways against soviets in 2v2
Gren,Gren,Mg42,Gren,Gren,Mg42,Flamethrower for Pio -> T2 -> Pak works very well as long as long as you dont bleed to many models prior the first mg42 nor any wipes which are a great setback in the early game

Is a pain in the ass to kill a Maxim, but
the MG34 is more annoying then the MG42.
But even though the axis HMG's have problems they are a must when it comes to blob tactics.

If we buff hmg 42, we need to nerf grenadier lmg 42, because it is so hard to fight against it. And be careful, because I don't want those days, when hmg 42 can suppress all army

I think the LMG has already been nerfed, because a few months ago i only build 3/4 LMG grens and was GG. Now i get only two grens just as meat shields and two pgrens.

Thing is the mg42 is not the only mg thats needs to be looked at the .50cal and dshk both need suppression or damage adjustments as well.
