Lately i see more and more people using Special Ops comander for OKW.
I almost never used it, and i feel the STG 44 upgrape for Obersoldaten a downgrade (LMG 34 seems to have a better "punch" at all distances).

Question is...Are the Sturmgewehrs worth the 90(?) muni they cost? I should use the STG Obers at close range?

They are best used in close-mid range, like every assault rifle.

They partly ignore cover which makes them very good against garrisons or crew weapons that provide cover (ATGs for example).

They are quite powerful, so I don't see them as a downgrade.

You should try them.

Yes, Squd wiping material. They're most useful in team games though.

Not sure why it's on the balance form.

You should only upgrade them on certain maps like City 17 with lots of buildings.

No, OKWs low munitions income and this upgrades marginal "improvements" make it very lackluster.

If you have a billion munitions lying around though they are good vs shocks since obers will then 1v1 shock troops. so long as they dodge the nade

I often upgrade them, seems to have more steady damage. One big thing people have not mentioned, is they cannot drop their weapons once upgraded :)
