I've recently become very interested in getting two clones of my primary monitor display to get a wicked 81 inches of 7680 x 1440 display just for Company of Heroes 2. I have the ASUS PB278Q, for those interested in getting a quality monitor.

However, I'm very skeptical about how I would actually implement this. First and foremost, I've been hearing rumors that Company of Heroes 2 isn't compatible with multiple GPUs. I don't know how true this, but I do know that some of my friends claim to have several GPUs for ther several monitors.

I also know that there is a YouTube video presenting triple monitors:

How in the world? I could've sworn I read Relic staff mention multi-GPU is not supported. And from this, I also assumed AMD Eyefinity and Nvidia 3D Surround were also unsupported.

But may one of you guys know more than me about this.

How many monitors do you play CoH 2 on?
I play on a single monitor, but I do have an extra monitor to have a window of Facebook or YouTube on.

Do you think the extra field of view from multi-monitor displays is cheating for Company of Heroes 2?
I think it is "cheating." You get extra field of view. You get to see flanks coming in, or what your teammates are doing. Hell, it would probably help you micro more too. But if you consider this cheating, you would also consider keyboard and mouse macros cheating as well.

honestly for an rts id think it make it harder just to do basic commands. there fore you have to move your head and mouse alot more than a single monitor.

I don't consider multi-monitor cheating because the minimap and tactical map are already providing the exact same information a larger FoV would.

Can CoH2 even run adequately with with a triple 1440p setup? I'm running CoH2 on medium settings on a 2560x1440 with 1 (of 3) 7970s and it's not giving me consistent 60 fps that I'm used to. When streaming, that number goes down to maybe 40 with some choppiness and extra input delay. I'm not sure how that video is getting an average 45 FPS.

Why only one out of three? Why not use all three? :OO

I can run Company of Heroes 2 with a GTX 780 on maximum settings around 30 FPS on a 2560 x 1440 display.

I actually have no idea how it'll work. First of all the minimap is on the left monitor while the unit buttons are on the right monitor. I rarely use the minimap, I use the tactical map much more often. And I rarely use the unit buttons either, hotkeys instead.

However, the biggest problem is panning. You'd need to go an extra monitor distance to simply pan to the right. I don't know if this will be a problem considering you also have that much field of view as well, requiring less panning.

I play with two monitors. One for COH2 and one for CELO and Itunes.

You forgot 2 monitors, regardless I have one monitor, and I do not consider additional monitors to be cheating. It's certainly an advantage, but it is not cheating. :P

I've seen people do this. You just enlarge the mini-map image and get it to display on your 2nd screen. Remember it being done in CoH1.

Minimap isn't as precise as tactical map.

CoH2 doesn't officially support SLI or Multi GPU Systems.

The engine of the game struggles to run on high spec single monitor machines, let a lone multi monitor. The engine needs to be optimised a lot more and support needs to be added for SLI/multi GPU first before it can be really considered properly. I am sure it does work as it is, but only really as a bodge.

IMHO multi monitor is useful for stuff such as game on 1 monitor, then iTunes, steaming etc on other monitors. At least that way, the performance shouldn't be affected that much, so in theory the game should only be using 1 and the desktop/OS etc should only be using the other(s). But hey, its probably not that simple.

You could probably use one of the super new GPUs like 780 ti or even the new 970/980 units to do 1 output into something like a tripplehead2GO then run the game in window mode on one monitor, and the other stuff on your other monitors.

multi-monitor and multi-gpu support would really be good. I've wanted to have a large tact map on one of my extra monitors for a long long time.

I have 3 Monitors and i have played CoH2 at a resolution of 6048*1080. But I dont recommend it. The HUD is stretched over all 3 monitors. If it was possible to customize the HUD like in CS:GO, so that the HUD is on the center monitor. Or if it was possible to use one monitor as tactical map and one as "hot action monitor" (which jumps always to the incident, that are popping up), I would give it a try.

Forget the whole "super gpu" thing. I got a 970 that is not bottlenecked by either ram or cpu and still only get around 45 fps on 1440p max settings. No clue how someone is supposed to run the game on 3 monitors at the same time, even if its just 1080p. The game is unoptimized as shit.

And thats one of the things that would need to be address to fully support multi monitor. Stretching the existing UI is sucky as hell.

Jesus, this just goes to show how shockingly un-optomized this piece of crap engine is!

Yep, supersampling bows down any GPU at this time.

Average of 35fps (max settings + AA disable) in UHD (3840 x 2160) with GeForce GTX 980 + Intel Core i7-4960X@4GHz (HT Off) + DDR3 [4 x 4 Go 2133@9-11-10-2T]. You can see the benchmark here.

I would choose one single 21:9 Aspect Ratio monitor over a three monitor display every day. I'm using a Dell Ultrasharp 2913WM since it's release and it's the best monitor I've ever used for any kind of game.

The extra FOV you get in RTS and FPS is really welcomed without having everything too far away like on 3 monitor display.

DEFINITELY bottlenecked by your CPU. Company of Heroes 2 takes a HUGE load on the CPU.
