Does angling vehicles increase their armor thickness? Or is it not taken into account?

Coldavid are you asking if facing your front armor to the opponent increases your armor? IT does. Vehicles have stronger frontal armor than the rear.

He means if setting your vehicle in a certain angle towards the enemy lets you use the armor more effectively than just facing straight with the front armor towards the enemy. This position has been used in the actual war to improve the effectiveness of the armor further.

The answer for the OP is btw no, this game uses a very simple way to calculate armor. Any shot to the front half of the tank (that means also the front half of the side armor) counts as "front armor", the back half of the tank as "back armor".
