Hello all,

Grid keys work really well (they are logical) but they don't quite do it for me.

So I have been playing around with a few scripts from autohotkey to try and get my perfect set up. It is constantly evolving so I will repost at the bottom if I have changed the script again. I will always change it in this post (the spoiler).

A full description and video tutorial by HappyPhace for autohotkey is here:

You can also just google it.

So what does this script do?

GridKeys are active
The attack here ping on the screen is controlled by the middle mouse button plus left click where you want it.
w is screen up
s is screen down
a is screen left
d is screen right
Alt Gr (or right alt) scroll through idle units.
x and y button on mouse is tac map on / off
ctrl groups now respond on single click and you can rotate through individual units within a group using mouse scroll.

This is my script to put into notepad once you ahk:

Keep developing and having fun :)

Hope that helps - and post up your scripts here :)

PS - where there are stupid faces in the spoiler script it should read (with no spaces between)

s : : Down
WheelDown : : send ^{Tab}
WheelUp : : send {Tab}

It thinks I am doing text speak ffs and I am too dumb to sort it!!!!

If anyone wants me to work out what script to use to change a button or do something, then post here and I will try my best.

My Soviet script:

My Ostheer script:

They are indeed very similar but with a few changes. My OKW and Ami scripts are still a work in progress.

I would like to be able to scroll between the idle units, anyone know how to write that?

So two sorts of solutions to your problem:

Default COH2 'next idle unit' key is alt + . (period key)

So we can change this to just one key stroke (I will use win logo key).

Or we just use the mouse wheel:

Try those?

Grid keys are available in the options without the use of scripts:

Menu > Options > Gameplay, then scroll down and uncheck Classic hotkeys box.

The primary advantage of grid keys is that all hot keys are within reach of your left hand. I use grid keys, however, scripts may prove useful for tweaking the grid key setup.

How do you move the map around?

I use a combination of mouse edge scrolling, space-bar, the minimap, the tactical map, and cursor keys. I think if you press and hold the middle mouse button you can scroll as well.

Anyone know how to reinforce a whole squad with one click?

Is it as simple as writing (I have reinforce on Q):

q::fffff

Or does it have to have a delay between each click?

Afaik you need some kind of loop or send delay as u said. I never tried it. Seems unfair to me since it gives you an advantage.
