Nice...

But one year later, and when the bulk of casters and hype have already gone...

And, its still in Alpha...

Yay, sort of. Good job, but...

I hope they truly get it sorted before their sponsored ESL tournamentas, or I will literally cry tears of blood.

That's the plan. If you do literally cry tears of blood please go see a doctor.

Honestly, the most exciting thing about this to me is being able to coach friends who are new to the game, and observe a match between players to tell them what they should be doing, pinging where they should be going, what to build next to be ready for whats coming at them etc.

Company of heroes are some of the most difficult games to get into multiplayer, and I would love to get more people into the game. You guys should re-read Ami's big post on why we need observer mode, its not all about Esports.

Thanks. Will do.

Lets hope its not necessary!

Thing is, and I dunno if you where around then, but this was sort of promised a year ago, in the launch description.

Back then, it was a huge thing. Forums everywhere where filled about it.
Many left the game on the principle they felt cheated, and many streamers because it was just too much of an additional hurdle.

It was bad.

GG on finally being closish to an implementation!

But make no mistake, and though we got used to it and worked around it, this has been a persistant thorn all the way since the beginning...

I just thought.

Because multiple people in a game are all going through Relics server and not P2P, there could be no limit to the amount of people jumping into an observer mode game. Something like this would take the esports aspect to a new level. I think something like this is or was planned for dota 2 where you can just jump into certain games from the menu screen and watch. This would be worth the year wait in my opinion if its what we finally get, even if it takes longer.

So much truth in this post. This will help the community improve at the game so much faster. This is a long time coming! Well done!

Respect to those few casters who stuck with it, despite this serious handicap!

I raise my hand and glass in salute to them for persevering.

YOU kept the scene and especially a competetive circuit alive.

YOU did that.

That is your achievement, and no matter what, we owe all of you a debt of gratitudef or your efforts.

Without your efforts, the upcoming ESL Cup would not have happened, as there would simply have been no scene or community left to play it for.

Relic: Well done to delivering a year later. Better late than never, I guess.

Casters: FUCKING WELL DONE, to delivering for the entire period, despite an arrow to the knee!

About time that observer mode comes! About ESL I have not much to say, always nice if some nice tournaments are there to watch, but such tournaments already existed before, so we will see first what will be different with a "partnership" with ESL.
